Reach Academy: Drop-off PointFour hours. We've been waiting here for four hours. Grey was apparently freed of all of his crimes and was now being dropped off at the school. I didn't want anything to do with this but Blythe asked me to join her. How could I resist? The way things ended between the two of us wasn't ideal. I wanted to try my hand at "us" being a thing once more. However, it would probably be too difficult at this point.
"Has he said anything yet?", I asked her. Blythe was pacing back and forth in front of me. She has been up for the past hour. I, however, lazily sat on the bench and watched her. "No. He hasn't". She was fixated on that phone of hers. Honestly I would be too. But only for her. Sappy, I know but Blythe was the one for me. "This is so boring. Say, why don't we go get some ice cream while we wait", I asked. I fully expected her to say no, especially since it was super cold outside. "No dude. We're staying here until he gets arrives. I don't care how long we have to wait". I rolled my eyes and sighed. "Saw it coming and I'm still annoyed", I thought.
Then, I felt an object bump me in the back of the head. "What the hell?". I turned around and remembered we weren't the only ones waiting here. Those two toys that Sinclair guy had were hovering around us. Apparently, she had found them but won't elaborate where and when. All I know is something was up. Like there was more to the story.
"Why'd you hit me? You know I'm right. It is boring waiting here", I spoke to the yellow one. The blue Petpod also showed its face, chirping rapidly like a bird. It sounded like it was arguing with me. "I can't understand you so therefore I'm right". After this they both started to freak out on me. The two of them chirped and beeped, floating around me like angry bees. After a few short seconds it got annoying. Despite that, I noticed that one of them had been missing.
I hadn't seen them since I met Sinclair on the bus, but I knew for a fact that there were three of them: A red one, a blue one, and a yellow one. That mysterious dude had them all in his bag. The red one was gone, and I didn't know why. "Where's the red fella? Did you lose him or something?", I asked the anxious girl. She stopped pacing and finally looked at me. "I don't know. Null wasn't with these three when I found them". Null? What a strange name. "Sinclair won't be happy to hear that", I mocked.
Blythe frowned at me and sighed. "I know. I'm hoping he's with Sinclair". "That's wishful thinking. That thing is probably smashed in some alleyway. Best case scenario is little Null outta juice and in somebody's pocket". It was a pessimistic outlook, but also the most realistic. Besides, I wanted to see the look on Blythe's face. "Don't say that. I'm sure Null as well as Sinclair are fine. We just have to wait and see what Grey says". Grey this, Grey that. I swear, sometimes I get the feeling these two are having some sort of fling.
I smacked away the little drones and pulled out my phone. Since it would be some time before he showed up I may as well distract myself. I didn't read the news that often, but today heaps of informative articles came out. Most of it explained the recent events surrounding Grey and Sinclair. Of course, they were all variations of the same story: Grey innocent; Sinclair is a terrorist; Yada yada yada.
"Do you believe that stuff?", she asked me. I shrugged my shoulders while still scrolling through some articles. "Don't know. It seems too much like fiction. Like you expect me to believe Sinclair was able to sneak a bomb into Corpus Industries', take Grey hostage, and blow up a train system? Something doesn't add up". I looked at her with a pondering face. "The footage they released is also very limited. There's things they don't want us to see. That much is certain".
Blythe let out a groan and took a seat next to me. "But did you see that one clip. The one of Sinclair?", She asked. The change of tone was significant. "You mean the last thing they showed before they cut the feed? Why? It just looks like he was screaming in pain while a nearby power cable let off some electricity. He's probably fried now that you reminded me". Blythe frowned and revoked my theory. "You fool. That stuff was coming out of him. He was the source". I scoffed and waved her off. "Come on. That doesn't make sense. Life's not like one of your fictional books. There's no ridiculously handsome fellas with supernatural abilities out hear causing revolutions". She did not find that amusing.
