I let out a quiet sigh as I sit with my sister my nerves at a high even though I trust Oberyn I'm still worried about Sansa, I look over at my grandmother who gives me a reassuring smile and a small almost unnoticeable nod it takes all in me not to let my true feelings show which at the moment are between throwing up and smiling knowing that for once the royal family will not get what they want when Joffery stands and states he has an announcement to make i close my eyes a he says my name i step forward just as he says Gregor Clegane's name who steps forward as well

"seeing as she is a ward of the throne as the king i have taken it upon myself to chose Aleia Starks future husband my own bodyguard Gregor Clegane.." i almost sigh in relief when i hear the smooth accented  voice speak up on my behalf and let a smile slip as he walks to my side

"Prince Oberyn why do you interrupt my son the king's announcement" Cersei stands up her father putting a stern hand on her arm and nods to Oberyn to speak a hint of suspension on his face

"Forgive me but I cannot allow you royal or not to marry off an already promised woman. you see before Eddard Stark's departure for Kings landing, he and my brother sent many letters to each other concerning Lady Aleia Starks future. my brother has always been fond of the girl and so they came to an agreement that the Starks and Martell's would unite with a marriage between myself and Aleia" i could almost laugh at the looks of rage on Cersei and Joffrey's faces and the one of indifference on Tywin while Tyion hid a smile. Cersei stands up ignoring her father's hand on her arm again.

"if this is true then why was none of us informed. in face why did Eddard Stark not send her to Dorne before his death." i look over at Oberyn a little worried although i try not to show it almost immediately i feel his hand take mine and I calm down giving it a squeeze to show my thanks. instead of answering Oberyn looks over at my grandmother instead and she stands looking straight at Cersei before giving her answer.

"i can answer that. since she was raised mostly in Highgarden and Lord Stark was busy with being a new hand to the King, he left it to me to air out the details. Prince Doran and I agreed we would not send Aleia to an unknown place away from her family until she was told about the marriage and she and Oberyn was able to meet. Prince Doran did not wish to overwhelm her with too much at once when her family was already going through changes of their own. With the unexpected events since their arrival its understanding that before his unexpected death Aleia's father never got to tell her of her betrothal to Prince Oberyn." i smile in gratitude to my grandmother before looking at Cersei who sits down quite for once knowing she couldn't say anything without it being taken wrong by others. we are all dismissed by the brat king. upon our exit we are stopped by Tyrion who leads us to a secluded corner away from anyone wishing to listen in on our conversation

"i just want to say thank you for doing for Lady Stark that no one even myself has been able to do getting her somewhere safe away from kings landing and my family." i smile down at the one man in kings landing that has been more of a friend to me than i could ask for. I step away from Oberyn who when exiting the meeting room had put his arm around my shoulders and bend down so im more level with Tyrion.

"My dear friend you have done more for me than you could ever know. you gave me your ear when I needed someone other than Sansa to talk to and your shoulder to cry on when i needed it. you were my comfort when i felt i could not move on after my father's death and Arya's disappearance. above all else you were and always will be my friend Lord Tyrion Lannister." we share a quick hug before i stand and walk over to Sandor who had been standing nearby making sure no one disturbed us allowing Oberyn and Tyrion to talk. on noticing Bronn standing near as well i walk over.

"Ser Bronn I know you already guard Tyrion and its selfish what i am about to ask of you, but with my betrothal to Oberyn most of my time will be with him getting to know him. could you watch over sensa when you are able? please " i hear Sandor scoff but i know Bronn is the only person i can trust this task with since Sandor will be occupied with making sure his brother does not approach me now that i won't be wed to him.

"Yes, I swear to you i will not let anything happen to your sister i won't even charge Ya." i let out a laugh at the only for it to turn to a small coughing fit before i can blink Oberyn is at my side an arm around my shoulders.

"Come little wolf ill have someone bring you some tea and we can join Ellaria in the gardens, and I'll tell you about your new home and family." i smile at him and nod i nod farewell to Bronn and Tyrion as we leave with Sandor behind us
