"Why do I have to go to the archive? And which genius thought it was good to have it in Tokyo?" She protested with her dad over a video call.
Jennie was currently in Berlin, and as much as she wished she could've been enjoying the Berlin cultural forum, the trench coat weather, or the ever so appetising Berliner Pfannkuchen, she was swarmed with work instead.
Having to meet with all the executives in Berlin, finding new sites and outlets, procuring window slots and advertisement models for new products, it was all just adding up everyday.
And now, when she was finally close to going back home, here she was, getting told she had to go to Tokyo to their file archive.
The main reason she was told it was in Tokyo, was that it would be easier to hide things about a company founded in a different country there.
So now, she's stuck on another involuntary trip.
"Why can't Minhyun go? That guy is just succumbing to lazing around all the time. Little fucker..." she cursed him out mid rage as her dad 'tsked' disapprovingly.
"Jennie, language. He's still your brother." Her dad prompted as she scoffed.
"Half brother. He never tried to be a brother, no matter how many times I tried to get close to him. And now? He's just tarnishing the name we've all worked for. Do you regret cheating on mom now? You drove her away after all." Jennie pointed out, her obvious distaste for his actions as her dad only sighed.
"Any louder and the world will know. Get over it, she's gone now. Anyways, you should be in Tokyo soon, and get the important meetings done in person while you're there." He diverted before ending the call, as she rolled her eyes at her conversation with him.
"Do this.. do that... does this shit ever end." She sighed, plopping back on her desk chair at her temporary office in the Berlin branch.
"Can I come in or is there more swearing that needs to get done?" Lia half seriously and half mockingly questioned entering the room.
"You tell me. Could I call that step monster and tell her to fuck off without my dad giving me more of his own work? I doubt it." Jennie carried as she loosened the top button of her shirt.
"Please book a flight to Tokyo. Also, call Rosé to let her know I've chosen number two for her save the date card templates. Also find a place to host her bridal shower will you? It's too complicated being a maid of honour." She sighed, as she stretched her fingers before sitting upright.
"Got that. Want something to eat? You've been in here all day after all." Lia asked as Jennie shook her head.
"No time for that, but call in the Berlin site manager, Business analyst, and the CTO from here please?" She instructed as Lia sighed and left, not before coming back in and placing a glass of beet juice on her desk and leaving.
Smiling, Jennie took a sip as she began to delve herself into her work again.
