THE NIGHT WAS OVER
as fast as it has begun after you found a nice hotel to stay at over night. Sadly, you couldn't take part on the festival for long because Shinobu scolded both you and Kanae for not taking things seriously enough and not getting enough rest after the two of you wanted to go out again.

Now it was day again and the three of you made your way towards the village nearby that was plagued by the demon you were here to eliminate.

Arriving not all too late, you observed your surroundings. Everything seemed to be perfectly fine as people walked along the streets, some carrying sacks of what you guessed was rice and others just striking up casual conversations. It didn't seem like there was anything out of ordinary at all.

"Let's look around a bit," Kanae said as you and Shinobu then nodded and everyone split up, observing the village on their own and asking the people who resided there if anything strange had happened.

'As long as we meet up before the sun goes down, everything should be fine,' you thought while walking around, hiding your sword underneath your Haori before asking yet another villager for any clues. He answered the exact same way everyone else did: "everything is perfectly fine her."

'No buddy, I think not,' you thought after thanking him despite your suspicion and continued your investigation.

'Does nobody notice that people are disappearing?' You questioned while your brows furrowed. Everyone acted a tad bit too normal — even happy.

You climbed onto one of the roofs, watching the streets from above as you even saw Shinobu in a distance doing the exact same.

Looking behind, you saw a group of people walking towards a building that stood a bit more secluded than the others. Each individual of the group carried an item, most of which were wrapped in fabric. Peeking at some of the objects, you had an inkling that they might be offerings for the gods or something.
