KANAE HAD FOUND SHINOBU
not long ago as her instinct now told her that something was terribly wrong. She wasn't sure why you had suddenly told her to go and find Shinobu when you seemed so relieved to meet up with her just a minute before.

Things didn't sit well with her and even Shinobu could tell that by simply looking at the expression her sister unconsciously let slip as they waited for you to come and reunite with them.

"Maybe she encountered the demon." The younger sibling suggested, darting her eyes at the direction that Kanae had come from and where you probably still were.

"We should go back and make sure she's safe," the taller female said, one of her hands laid upon her chest. Shinobu nodded without hesitation, ready to go after you as a sudden, strong gale made them stop in their tracks.

Huge icy spikes were piercing from the ground in a distance, hovering over the houses that were only about half as high as the ice was reaching. The temperature dropped to a freezing point and brought with it the ominous aura of its blood demon art.

The sisters' eyes widened with terror written all over their features, looking at the enormous creation a few hundred meters away.

"T-That is..." Shinobu was too sunned to form a proper sentence, standing in a fighting stance out of reflexes as the blood in her veins ran cold.

"[ y/n ]..." Kanae said, both of her hands now covering her mouth as her eyes trembled.

The ice towered over the village; a harbinger of their doom in all its ethereal glamour. The siblings couldn't even begin to fathom just how many people must have been in the midst of the chaos, now swallowed up by the masses of ice.

The few seconds in which they could do no more than gape in tremendous horror horror felt like hours. As if the demon had frozen time along with everything else now that he already was at it.

"We must–" Kanae stopped herself when a fine line fractured in the ice.

And another.

And another.
