FELICIA'S P.O.V:

I landed softly in the school parking lot, crouching behind some cars. It was around 1:30 in the afternoon; smack in the middle of fifth period.

I crept up to the doors, spreading my density so I was practically invisible. Gently laying my weapons behind some bushes, I took a deep breath and pushed the double doors open.

As I walked through the familiar halls, I felt a pang of jealousy towards all these people who got to live normal lives and worry about normal problems.

Me, on the other hand, could be dead in less than a week if I couldn't defeat Shane and his army. And save my parents. And possibly James.

I heard giggling, and froze. Three girls in my grade turned the corner and stopped when they saw me.

"Oh. My. God." The blonde said.

"Karen, is that?-"

"Yup." Karen answered.

"Um. Hi." I half-waved to them, trying not to run back out the doors and fly of into the sky.

"Uh, hi. Felicia, right?"

"Yea." I swallowed and shoved my hands in my pocket.

"What the hell are you wearing?" Karen smacked her gum.

I glanced down and stifled a gasp.

Shit.

I was still wearing my black ninja outfit with black combat boots.

I probably looked liked I was going to murder someone.

Well, in a way, I was. But they didn't need to know that.

"Uuuhhh, I'm...it's kinda my job. I mean, I got hired at this place as like, they're security guard..."

I smiled and prayed they bought it.

"Oh. Cool." Karen and the blonde shrugged.

"So, why are you here?" The third answered, cocking her hips. "It's not like you're wanted here."

"Becca!" Karen hissed.

"What?! She's a freak! Remember what she did to your hair? With the paint!?"

"Only because you and Kelly decided to be your usual bitchy selves and write that on her locker! I kinda deserved it, for not standing up!"

Karen stared at her "friends".

I shuffled my feet. "Uh, hello. Standing right here."

"Oh, so now you're standing up for the freak?! C'mon Karen! What the hell is wrong with you?" Kelly folded her arms.

"Me?! I'm not the one who treats people like shit just because they're different than your petty little standards." Karen's voice grew, echoing around the quiet hall.

"Uh, guys..." I started, but they ignored me.

"Ok, fine. You want the truth?!" Karen yelled.

"We'd like to know where you're loyalties lie, yes." Becca snorted.
