'Here you go.'
My brother handed me the pitching wedge from my golf club set.
This is our usual bonding, especially when we have free time, which is very rare. We always visit different golf course, play for the whole day and grab some food right after.
We used to play only on the mansion's golf course since we were kids, but not anymore because I rarely go home.
'Thanks, bro.' I smiled as I positioned myself holding the club getting ready to swing.
Before I could even take a hit, we heard a loud voice coming from a person walking towards us followed by three bodyguards behind him.
'There you are. I've been looking for the both of you.'
He flashed a broad smile as he removed his glasses, then handed them to one of his bodyguards. He then combs his hair using one of his hands with the other one pursed inside his pants, then he winked at me.
He thinks he's cute with these gestures, huh? Well, clearly he's not. He looks like someone who could easily ruin a day without even doing anything.
'Are we expecting you here?' I asked rudely out of annoyance. Honestly, I'm quite surprised that he's here. He should be in the States.
'That's rude. But didn't you miss me, sweetheart? Long time no see.' he moved closely extending his arm, trying to reach for my shoulder to initiate a hug, but I refused.
Disgusting.
'What are you doing in the country?' I asked uninterested right after I took a swing.
'Come on now. Is that how you would greet your handsome boyfriend? Or should I say, your future husband?' he smirked full of confidence.
My brows automatically furrowed upon hearing what he said.
'Excuse me?! Who told you that I'm going to marry you? Are you out of your mind?!' I reacted giving him a death glare.
'Oh? So you don't know about it yet? Well, that's the reason why I came back to the Philippines. And, of course, I missed you so much.' he leaned closer, trying to kiss my cheek but again, I refused it. No fucking way you're touching me!
I am totally confused right now. What is he even talking about? He's back in the country and started talking nonsense.
Yeah, he's my ex-boyfriend, but only because it's a family agreement. But that doesn't mean that he will be the one that I would marry. I don't even like him. Never was.
'What the hell are you talking about?!' I'm out of words all of a sudden. I immediately turned my gaze to my brother who was now massaging his temple.
'Lucas? Do you know anything about what he's saying?' I gave him a questioning look.
He did a facepalm, heaved a deep sigh and cleared his throat before answering.
'Dad and Mr. Bradley Montero requested him to come back to the country for the wedding preparation. They had already talked about it like two weeks ago.' It's obvious that he's struggling to say those words.
