Today was the day or at least it's meant to be. By that I mean my dance competition. Lexi tried her hardest to get me to pull out but I wasn't backing done I was going for the gold. I was backstage preparing my hair and makeup. "Your can't dance" I glance in the mirror to see Justin leaning against the doorway. "Which one of our family members sent you" I ask opening my sparkling eye shadow "Allie you need to listen you aren't strong enough to" "you have no idea how strong I am anymore" I snap cutting him off "the door is behind you" I add as I begin to put the sparkly silver eye shadow on.
It was over. I felt like I was going to pass out, I was beyond exhausted. I sat on the stage after in excitement with Samantha, Parker and Faith. "You good" Parker asks looking at me her face full of worry concern. "Yeah you don't look so good" Samantha adds sitting beside me "I'm fine just tried a tad bit annoyed that everyone is trying so desperately to control my life so suddenly" I said "it's just because they all care" Samantha shrugs. All their eyes go over Elodie as she walks past. She doesn't normally come here.
I get up leaving my friends walking over sitting beside her. "What do you want" she snaps "I just want to say I'm really glad you came your an incredible dancer" I see her relax "why are you nice to me" "probably the same reason your talking to me" I shrug "I heard what happened" I roll my eyes "I think everyone has by now" I shrug she goes to speak "please don't I have everyone asking and questioning" "you have a million people love and fight for you you shouldn't be hard on them" she said getting up "Elodie if you ever just know I'm here" "your a good person Allie" she told me before walking away.
I wore my metal around my neck, my dance duffle bag over my shoulder as I walk through the carpark. "Allie" I hold my jacket tighter, the rain making it incredibly hard to hear and see. "Get in I'll drive you" Justin said as I stood in front of him right beside his black car. "I'd rather walk thanks" I spin around hearing him sigh "just get in before I have to drag you" I just look at him "get in Allie it's raining" "0oh I didn't notice" I said before sighing and getting in. He doesn't say anything just turn his car and the air conditioner on. I adjust the little vent things making them spray the cold air right at my face, instantly calming me. "I'm worried about you I think everyone is" "your all trying to control me" "no we're not" he said as he drove "Allie you shut down you need to let someone in" "so everyone keeps saying" I roll my eyes "when did we start not talking" "probably around the time you went to prison" I sigh finally looking at him "so you never answered who called you" "Lexi" "really" I was surprised no doubt I showed it on my face "I'm as shocked as you are" I shrugged "so who is she" i hum looking at him "the girl you spoke to outside" "Elodie can you turn here I want to drive past her place" "everything ok" "no" I shake my head "something is off with her step father I just can't figure out what and she won't tell me yet" he nods turning down the street "brick house with the old pickup out front" I point out "your a good friend and person Allie girl...but" "please don't I don't need a back handed comment" "I know" he laughs nodding.
I was laying in my bed at the Voight household. Working on my school work "Justin told me about Elodie" Hank said I don't look up from writing. "don't know what he told you I just told him a name" I said "what's her last name" he asks that question makes me freeze I look up at him my brown hair falling over my face as I do. "Smith" "her mum the one from the drive by a couple of years ago" he asks making me wonder how he came to that conclusion. "I figured something happened when Justin didn't mention her" I sigh "yeah" "I'll make you a deal" he said coming over sitting in front of me making me sit up instantly. "We run our own investigation you can be in charge you pick" "the Hank Voight is giving me power" "think you might need some power" he shrugged "we look into whatever you think is going on" "I don't know what's going on" "you were raised by cops Cami if you think something is going on your probably right" he told me making me nod "but" I roll my eyes there's always a but. "You have to let someone in you can't just not sleep for more than three hours. You sleep the whole night you someone in and we'll be good...you don't that it all goes away" "so your leveraging my friends life on this" "no I will investigate without you because at the end of the day if you aren't sleeping or talking to someone you can very quickly become a danger to everyone around you in my world" he told me sternly making me sigh and nod. Him and dad had told me stories about how bad dad coped after fighting in France. "I won" I said after several moments of silence "I guess that shows how much better if your dancing sleep deprived and your still winning" he told me making me smile. "Get some sleep" he gets up leaving "I can try" he quietly chuckles before closing my door walking down the hall.
