I had been somewhat isolated

I had been somewhat isolated. I was coming back to me, if that is even a thing. The me without Justin. I had been occasionally staying with dad. I wasn't going to fault him for making an effort his my dad. It was much better than my mother who had been cheering and ecstatic that Justin had left. She's assuming I'll now be a 'normal' teenager and not trouble, her words not mine. As always I was dancing constantly. I had a big comp coming up it was the first before nationals. Dad had been picking me up as I had been finishing around the same time as him, his been taking me to dinner.

I walk beside Lexi through the school. We had been meeting up around lunch somedays and just hanging out. "So when's the comp" I look at her confused "what I want to come" "uh the comp is this weekend but nationals are two weeks away" "that's the big one right" "yep the comps are normally about collaborating and learning more than the actually comp you can have classes with famous dancers nationals are for the awards to learn who the best dancer in that age group and style of dance is as well as the studio that is the best for the year at least" she nods "well I'll be sure to come" "you don't have to" "oh come on I know Justin is going dad is even talking about going I'm coming" I smile gleefully at her.

"Hey Millie bear" I spun smiling as I see my favourite person standing there in all his glory. I hadn't expected him in the slightest. Not until this weekend at Comp but even that was up in the air. "You aren't going to give me a hug" he pouts making me roll my eyes "I didn't expect you back" I said as I skip over to him jumping into his arms. "You two act like your never been apart...you were for a whole year" Hank said making me laugh "a year to long and we didn't even get a goodbye this time" I said making said man roll his eyes, while Justin laughs. "Well be wouldn't be here if you didn't spill the beans" Hank mused smiling at our interaction "I didn't know a child was beans" I said making Justin laugh loudly.

I sat beside dad in his garage home. "So you dancing this weekend" "yep and two weeks from now is nationals" "I'll be at nationals this comp" "it's an average comp I don't care" I shrug "so what case you working on" "one with cop killers" he showed me the picture of the bullet making me nod "well I hope those stay unloaded" "you and me both" he sighs "Justin's back" I tell him "Voight told me which makes me wonder why your here and not with him" "oh his girlfriends pregnant they have a lots to talk about" "well that I didn't know" "see Hank doesn't share everything" he laughs shoving me gently "also heard you and Lexi have been hanging out" he looks at me "yeah it's been good but mum is using her to get close to me which will only hurt Lexi but I'm sucking it up" he sighs "she's never been my mother I don't remember the time before all I remember is Camille raising me Hank being a second father and you coming over everyday to see me" "yeah had to make sure you and Justin weren't getting into to much trouble" I laugh "I don't know how to be her daughter dad she has this image of me that I'm just not" "I know" he sighs kissing my head. "I love you dad" "you are one of the most important people in my life always remember that. I love you more than anything" he assured me making me nod "so this case" he looks at me "your not helping bug" I pout at the answer but smile at the childhood nickname. "Ok but would you be mad if I snoop" "yes worlds apart" he told me reminding me how he always said he kept us worlds apart from his work. I sigh just resting my head on his shoulder.
