Hiccup's P.O.V.
I walked behind Chloe and her friends into the Dragon Killing arena. I kinda thought Chloe would be walking by me, but she hasn't said one word to me today. I thought maybe she was mad at me, but I couldn't figure out why.
"Welcome to Dragon Training!" Gobber exclaimed.
"No turning back," Astrid and Chloe spoke together looking forward.
"I hope I get some serious burns!" Tuffnut exclaimed excitedly.
"I'm hoping for some mauling, like on my shoulder or lower back," Ruffnut added.
"Yeah, it's only fun if you get a scar out of it," Astrid spoke up.
"Battlescars are worth it, only if you survive," Destiny stated.
"They show how strong a warrior you can be," Chloe spoke softly looking just as hesitant and as afraid as I was in the woods.
"Yeah, no kidding right?--"
They all turned to look at me.
"Pain. Love it," I spoke already feeling the awkwardness surfacing.
"Oh great, who let him in?" Tuffnut asked annoyed.
Chloe quickly hit his arm.
"Ow! What? We were all thinking it," Tuffnut said to her.
"Not all of us," she stated softly.
Hearing her say this made me want to smile. I looked away as some red came to my cheeks.
"What do you see in him anyway? It's obvious that I'm a much better choice for you," Tuffnut told her trying to act all tough.
Both Chloe and I rolled our eyes annoyed by him.
"Let's get started! The recruit who does best will win the honor of killing his first dragon in front of the entire village," Gobber said to us with a determined happy tone.
"Hiccup already killed a Night Fury, so, does that disqualify him or-"
Chloe wouldn't even let him finish his sentence before punching his arm.
"Ow! Hey, watch it! You shouldn't be here either! You're just as much of a loser as he is!" Snotlout told her in anger.
Anger coursed through me as I looked at Snotlout. I watched as Destiny said nothing before punching his other arm.
"Ow! Hey, what do I look like to you a punching dummy?!" Snotlout asked her in annoyance and irritation.
"Do you really want me to answer that?" Destiny asked him sarcastically.
"Can I transfer to the class with the cool Vikings?" Tuffnut asked annoyed.
"Tuffnut you wouldn't be cool if you were sitting on blocks of ice, locked inside the ice house," Chloe told him annoyed.
"Just admit it, Chloe, you want me," Tuffnut said to her flirtatiously.
She rolled her eyes as she shot back with:
"As if."
I sighed as they all walked further into the arena leaving me behind. Gobber stood next to me putting an arm around me.
"Don't worry. You're small and you're weak. That'll make you less of a target. They'll see you as sick and insane and go after the more Viking-like teens instead," he said to me trying to be comforting.
