Aenon was told to not bring too much and just the essentials by his older brother, Marius, so, naturally he packed a bag full of wires and all sorts of techy stuff. When Marius found out his defensive reasoning was "because I'm gonna be bored and I know you have the food and water." At this point they were miles away from the fortress with almost a thousand people behind them, leading them to a "portal to the Overworld" as Marius had said.

The ground was beneath him was warm but not burning. There was red grass and the vines stretched up, with no assistance, toward the bedrock and netherrack that replaced the sky. The trees were red with big shroom light orbs tucked away giving off a faint glow. The ground was littered with crimson mushrooms. Occasionally there was a light warm breeze. They were all walking across floating islands held together by cobblestone bridges, how they stayed together without support was a mystery but there were lots of squiggles, lines, and dots on them.

"So," Aenon said, starting a conversation with Marius because he was already bored of his toys after a day. "How do you know we're going the right way?"

Marius rolled his eyes. "Why are you bothering me?"

"'Cause you look lonely?" He tried, hoping his older brother would believe him.

"You and I both know that's not true." He sighed, "To answer your question, I know we're going the right direction because of this." He held up a green metal pad with wires sticking out everywhere and a black rectangle in the middle with numbers and dashes. The backside had a greenish leather so Marius' fingers didn't burn from holding it.

"Yeah. Cool. Wow. A green thing. Very impressive."

"It's a coordinator you dingbat."

"Oh..." He pretended to think. "What's it do?"

Marius looked up for a second staring blankly into nothing then looked at Aenon with no emotion on his face probably deciding on whether he was being serious or was just that stupid.

"What? What's it do?" Aenon asked.

"Are you serious?"

"yeeesss" He answered slowly, squinting like it might be some kind of trick question. Marius sighed pinching the bridge of his nose just above his metal mask.

"It shows our coordinates."

"Oh."

"Yeah, oh." He rolled his eyes.

"So what are our coordinates now?"

"Our current position is 593, 60, 3367."

"What number do we need?"

"Somewhere around 1ish."

"For all three numbers?"

"No, I think we should keep that middle number somewhere around 30 to 40."

"30 to 40?" He scrunched up his eyebrows in thought. "That's a wide range, isn't it?"

"No, that's about where the portal is." He stuffed the coordinator in his back pocket. "You're bothering me. Go check on mom. She might enjoy your company."

Aenon sighed and rolled his eyes as he walked away. He didn't really hate his mother's company, he was just choosing to be difficult. In actuality he loved her with all his heart, she was everything to him. Queen Asmara had been sick for as long as Aenon could remember, she had always been frail and pale and could never walk very far before having a coughing fit. Her sickness was unknown and untreatable which was very surprising with how advanced their technology was.
