Y/N POV
"Uhm g-good morning?" I whispered deeply in surprise.
The girls' expression was one of pure surprise.
"What happened?!" she abruptly called.
"I don't know you tell me!"
She propped herself up on my torso as we both frantically tried to scramble away from each other. I ended up attempting to roll to the side and out from under her, but I underestimated her grip as we both fell off the bed and on top off each other.
"Ahhh! Come on, how hard can this be?"
Cut to the living room.
I had moved to the couch and glued my form there indefinitely. Tohru had rushed herself to the kitchen, muttering apologies of all calibers as she frantically tried to explain what had happened. A few minutes passed before I saw movement from the door in front of me, opening to reveal my host.
"Kobayashi, sleep alright?" I asked, my form still rigid and wide eyed.
"Uhm yeah, just fine, you ok there?"
"Never better. Hey thanks for letting me crash here last night, I appreciate it." I said as my tone relaxed. The brunette waltzed over to the seat adjacent from me and sat her small frame into it. Unlike me she had tidied herself up and was looking sharp and ready for the day. She giggled as she caught a detailed look at me.
"Just woke up then I suppose?" she mused
"Yeah, we'll go with that." I chuckled in reply
"By the way has Tohru woken up yet I couldn't find her in her room, so I thought she was in the bathroom."
"Uh yeah, she just got up too." I seconded
"Did she just come in?"
"Yep, just saw her." I lied for obvious reasons. "She's in the kitchen."
The woman cast an eye to where Tohru supposedly was and nodded before rising from her chair and gliding to the kitchen herself. I relaxed my tensed figure and sighed. Bullet dodged, partly. I still had to say something to Tohru, that whole situation still had me puzzled.
Why was she even there in the first place?
My mind began to wander back to my nights' experience. The nightmare. I was scared because of how realistic that situation was. I glared at the carpeted floor and then at my hand. I stared at it as the appendage suddenly flickered, taking the form of a blood-stained set of talons.
I flinched as my fingers resumed their normal appearance and sighed. Why, why now must they get to me?
Flashbacks, nightmares, why now all of a sudden. Is it because I'm finally taking a liking to this world? Or could it be, I'm taking a liking to the contents of it? I felt excited at the thought of finally finding a place to settle, maybe even a permanent one. Still, it didn't answer my questions about the trauma.
The past was supposed to happen and stay there, right? I was jolted out of my thinking when I felt a light tap on my shoulder. I looked up to see Kobayashi waiting, a puzzled look brushing her features.
"You want some food? Tohru made extra." She inquired.
"Oh, I'll be alright. Not hungry this morning."
"Ok your loss." She deadpanned
"Now." She said taking a seat. "What do you do for a living?"
I gulped; I didn't have an occupation of my own.
