"You have no idea what you've done to me," Giyu joked, his two hands on the face of the small girl in front of him.

Shinobu smiled as her newly found lover leaned in for another kiss. His hands were cold and so were his lips, in contrast to her warm body.

"Giyu," she said, breaking free from the kiss, "there are so many reasons we shouldn't."

"Like what?"

"You know this can't be permanent."

He took a deep breath before continuing to trace her cheekbones, "it doesn't matter, if this is about the fight with Muzan Kibutsuji or whatever your talk with the master was about, it's alright, just stay with me for as long as you can."

She smiled back at him, her brain was yelling at her to not stay but he was just too addictive, just his mere scent was enough to pull her in.

"Since when did you become so poetic," she taunted him back with such a happy smile.

A moment passed as the two leant back and laid down on the patio in silence, exhausted from the previous events that had happened in one night. They lay barefoot and the bamboo flooring, their lower legs hanging off the edge and their feet on the warm grass.

"Hey, you know when I told you to leave earlier," she flinched at the thought of herself yelling those nasty words at him, she could only imagine the hurt she caused, "it didn't come out of nowhere."

"What do you mean?"

She hesitated before turning her head around, "nevermind, it's nothing."

Giyu sighed back in response and he too turned around in the opposite direction. How did the atmosphere become so tense in such little time? Shinobu wondered how long her time with Giyu would last, she wondered what he would do if he found out that either way, there was no chance of her making it out alive in this situation.

About five to ten minutes passed in awkward silence, not like the ones they were used to though, this one was far worse.

All of a sudden, Giyu felt a warm embrace on his chest, it was Shinobu.

"Shi-"

"Giyu."

He twisted himself around in her grasp and stared straight into her eyes.

"Giyu, kiss me one more time."

He raised one eyebrow then smirked at her with a mocking laugh.

"You should go to sleep," he whispered into her ear before giving her a small peck on her forehead.

The following morning, the two hashira were woken up by the sound of kakushi running around.

"Is something happening?" Shinobu questioned, rubbing her eyes and sitting up.

Oh, she thought, finally noticing the pair of arms around her waist.

"I guess they're all beginning the training," Giyu's ringing husky voice began and she couldn't help but to reminisce what had happened last night.

All the demon slayers were now beginning to train their bodies for the upcoming final battle and no one was taking this lightly.

"Let's go," he said, steadying himself onto his legs and offering Shinobu a helping hand.

She nodded in agreement, her thoughts still swirling around in her mind, she was in such a daze and completely entrusted Giyu with coordination as she blindly walked after him. Her fingers interlocked with his as he dragged her and the feeling made her feel all warm and happy.

As per usual, Mitsuri was practising her maneuvering skills with Obanai's company, her face was had the complete definition of 'shock' printed on it and it was clear that everything was going to just get tougher from here onwards.

"Let's go train in the forest," Giyu suggested, stopping underneath a large oak tree.

"I don't know, I think I'll go train at the Butterfly mansion with the others, I'll help out Kanao too, but you go ahead," Shinobu replied back. She was just trying to find an excuse though, she just needed to urgently get back and continue preparing her body for the fight against Upper Moon 2.

The water hashira nodded, he was slightly disappointed that he couldn't spend time training with her but who was he to admit that. "Alright," he said, letting go of her hand.

"But before you go," he continued.

He wrapped one arm around her waist and locked eyes with her. A finger drove down her face, from her nose to her lips and stopped at her chin. He pushed her face upwards until it was completely in line with his and gave the side of her lip a small kiss before dragging his mouth along her cheek until it reached her ear.

"I just needed to make sure last night wasn't a dream," he whispered into her ear, leaving the girl in a daydream too good to be true.

"Don't worry," she grinned back sinisterly, pulling his face back so it was facing right in front of her. Their lips were only a few inches apart, the pressure was so incredibly overwhelming.

"If it was, then we had the same dream," she pressed her plump lips against his and they shared another satisfying kiss, arms embracing around each other's bodies. When Giyu finally broke free, he was practically panting but he also laughed. As for Shinobu, she gave the man in front of her a small scoff before placing her pointer finger on her bottom lip.

Giyu absolutely loved that side of Shinobu.

"I'll see you later then," he chuckled, before heading off towards the forest.
