Jungkook gnawed on his bottom lip, his body tensed up as he stared at the door. He takes in a deep breath to calm his nerves before ringing the doorbell.
It's been two decades! According to what his hyungs and dad told him, he was separated from his mother at 4. Jungkook wondered what his mother's initial reaction would be when she sees him.
Would she accept him or give a cold shoulder? would she look at him with as much anger and hatred as his brother did?
With a click of sound, the door opens, revealing a beautiful lady, who probably is in her late 40's.
Her shoulder length hair was left open, it's as silky as Jungkook's. Her doe eyes, expressive and sparkling. Thin lips pulled into a small smile. She was wearing a white shirt paired with a brown skirt. She wasn't too tall nor too short.
She was absolutely gorgeous, perfect in all ways to Jungkook's eyes.
Jungkook realizes him and his brother looked more like her than their dad.
Before he could utter a word, the lady stepped forward, wrapping him into a warm hug.
"Angel" his mother spoke up, her voice ever so sweet.
Jungkook's throat constricted, he could feel a wave of emotions sweep through his body, his eyes were stinging as he controlled his tears. He needed to be happy and yes he was, but he was sad too. Sad that his mother has mistaken him for Jeongguk.
His hands were fisted at the sides as he opened his mouth to talk.
"I-i'm n-not ——"
"I know angel, I know you're not ggukie" at the very moment Jungkook could feel wetness seep into his shirt near his chest where his mother's head was rested.
His mother was crying.
"M-mom" he says, voice soft and concerned.
And the sobs got louder, his mother sobbed clutching onto him.
Jungkook hated this feeling, hated the sounds of his mother's cry. He immediately brought his hands up returning the hug.
"H-how are you m-mom?" He asks tears streaming down his eyes as well.
"Not so good.....until today" she replies, hugging him closer. "What took you so long angel?"
"I-i'm sorry" was all he could say.
She cried till tears drained out and once she pulled away she pressed a hand to his face, wiping the droplets from his cheeks with her thumb.
"Look at you, grown into a fine young man" she smiles fondly, battling her overwhelming emotions.
Her son barely came upto her waist's length when he was taken away from her. But now he was so tall that Chaewon had to hold her head high to meet his gaze.
She ushered him inside, it was a small three bedroom apartment, may be one-tenth the size of Jungkook's house in Seoul but it was homely, warm, cozy and very tidy.
Jungkook explained her that he didn't know about their existence, how his father never told him about them.
Chaewon was fuming, she wants to smack her ex-husband for keeping her son away from her for so long. But after learning that he fell ill, had a cardiac arrest and is now living away from business and the worldly stress in an estate in Tokyo, her anger subsided. She sympathized with him.
Chaewon wasn't as cruel as him, she was very forgiving.
Her son was here and she wants to rejoice the moment than prying on the acts of her ex-husband.
