Chapter 54

Taehyung was upset the entire day. He was so enthusiastic when he began the search but now that he can't buy, he was positively sulking.

He waited for years thinking of a house and wondered how many more years he needed to wait for it.

When Jungkook got back home in the evening, he notices Tae's gloomy mood and asks about it.

"The houses you sent are out of my range" he tells him openly in a sad undertone, the duo lately stopped keeping secrets from each other.

"I thought they were quite affordable" Jungkook replies.

"Not really, the down payment itself is double the amount I prepared to pay"

"I can pay though"

"NO!" comes a sharp screech "I know you can but I don't want you to" Taehyung objects and Jungkook calmly nods.

Taehyung was not going to give up so soon.

He contacted other agents and continued his hunt the next week too and came back home exhausted every day.

Five more days went by, he could find none till date. Is there not even one cheap and nice house to buy in entire South korea?

While having dinner on the Friday night, his eyes burned thinking of yet another day of failure.

He doesn't know when he started associating his independence and self respect to a house but as days passed by he was becoming eager, impatient and defeated.

That night he went to bed early. He couldn't sleep immediately and after an hour of tossing, turning he falls asleep.

When he wakes up in the middle of the night, he sees Jungkook's face just a few inches away from his.

The elder was sleeping peacefully, Taehyung doesn't know when he joined him.

He shuffles closer, sticking his head to Jungkook's chest and going back to sleep.

The sun rays penetrate through the double hung glass windows and fall onto Tae's serene face. He blinks his puffy eyes open and rubs them, sitting up.

"Good morning big baby" Jungkook comes from the bathroom and greets him, patting his face dry and plopping onto the bed.

"When did you come?" He asks groggily.

"Around 1 am, Had a surprise for you, but you were asleep by then"

"A surprise?" The younger cocks his head.

"Yes, there's this house for sale within your budget. It's a single bedroom house with a small living room and kitchen in a peaceful locality"

Hope fills up in Tae's eyes, he was completely out of his sleepy mode by now.

"Is it new and neat hyung? I don't want old houses with foul smell"

Jungkook narrows his eyes "Look who's complaining about tidiness"

The younger giggles "I want a neat place so you'll come and stay with me too"

"Of course baby, I'll go wherever you take me"

"Cheesy" Tae grins "Can you give me more details so I can plan accordingly" he asks.

"Well, the total cost is $140000"

Tae had his bottom lip pressed under his teeth as he starts thinking. "$140000? Hm..." He repeats "I have around $20000 for the initial payment but the remaining $120000 will take at least 3 years for me, will the landlord be okay with it?"
