Chapter One: First Impression

"Leigh?" Mich, my bestfriend, called me.

"Yeah?" I asked, looking at her.

"Look at that guy, such a cutie!" She chuckled, looking at a guy drinking a cup of coffee across the café we're at.

I looked at the guy and studied him. Hmm.. He's quite good looking. But that's it. I'm still not interested in any guys, just not now.

I shrugged, "Eh. He's... okay."

"Okay? OKAY?! Kyleigh, you've gotta say more than that! Come on, don't you think it's finally time to move on?! Go to the club! Date different guys! Meet boys everywhere, don't be like that!" Mich glared at me.

I shrugged again, and finished my honey glazed doughnut, sipping my iced tea and wiped my mouth. "I'm done. Let's go?"

She rolled her eyes and nodded, slinging her bag on her arm. I got my own bag and phone, standing up and walking away from the café we were in, with Mich talking about how I should start dating again, and it's only been a one time thing and all. It's our usual arguement, her telling me to date again and me nodding as a response even though i'm not listening.

"Leigh, are you even listening?" She asked, irritated when she noticed i'm not listening.

"Yes, You were talking about how I should date again, right?" I smiled.

She nodded, and then continued to talk and talk.

Sighing, I thought about how I survived every single day with her and how she is my best friend.

"How's your day?" Mom asked.

I nodded, "good, good."

"Mich has been bugging you again, I assume?" She chuckled, making me chuckle myself.

"Yes. Then gave me her daily speech about how I should date again. Nothing really new."

"Well, I'll tell you what's new." I looked up from the table to my mom, who has a goofy grin on her face.

I gave her a 'spill' look, and then she squealed a bit. "Simon and I are engaged!"

Wait what.

Giving my best poker face, "Since when? And why didn't he tell me?"

"Just the other day. I don't think he didn't tell you, since I told him i'm worried about you but he said he already spoke to you."

"What?" I asked confusedly, shaking my head to remember thoughts.

Took me a minute to remember, and laughed at my own stupidity. "Sorry, I forgot."

"And, we're moving to the new house he bought. With his son and daughter."

Son? I met Thalia, the little princess, but I never knew Uncle Si got a son. Anyways, I nodded and smiled, "When? I never knew he had a son."

Me and Thalia are pretty much close, but she never told me that she has a brother! Wow.

"In about a month or so. When the house is all done, then we are moving!" She clapped her hands happily, A smile was on my face but was brought down fastly too.

"Wait, In a month? But in a month school starts, and I can't change schools!" I complained.

"Honey, don't worry. It's a fifteen-minute drive from there to your school. Besides, You got a year left, so there's no really a problem with that." She reasoned out, so I just nodded and flatened my back at the chair.
