BangPD and the other staff members had been carefully observing a specific group of five boys for the past few months, always seeming to filter out any other trainees they'd thought would fit the group's concept at one point or another.the five had never been out of the picture, though. anytime the staff members were assigned to choose their select group for the lineup, it was them and only them.
the energy the five had when together was indescribable— as if they'd been placed together in previous lifetime.
all of a sudden, that changed.
the staff members were worried when Misaki said she was ready to return to a semi-normal training schedule. sure, they'd been kept up-to-date on her condition by Ara, as she played the role of Misaki's caregiver while her mom was in Vancouver, however the return felt too fast.
it'd felt like eternity to Misaki, though. the time she'd already spent away from the practice rooms was enough to make her want to eat a peach.
she hates peaches.
there was no need to try and describe how desperate the girl was to return to a normal life— however normal her life could return to, that is.

Ara ran around the front of the car to open the girl's door, an action which gained an amused chuckle from Misaki. "not necessary but welcomed, 언니. thank you," she said, earning a small grin from the older.
Ara had set daily goals for the girl's language recovery, something Misaki was extremely grateful for, considering they were what got her mind off the negative things while she was stuck in bed.
Misaki's hand naturally wrapped around the older's arm, using Ara as a sort of support as they approached the enterance. Ara could feel the younger's frantic heartbeat, sending the taller girl a small smile of encouragement. "there's nothing to worry about, Mia. the staff members are all so excited to see you around again,"
Misaki gave a small smile as her eyes trailed to the ground in front of them. "what if i'm all alone, 언니? no one will want to talk to me, i don't know anyone,"
Ara pursed her lips, thinking of how to respond. "you may not know anyone, but that's okay, it gives you a chance to make new friends,"
Misaki looked down, giving the older a ridiculed look, "i can't speak the same language as them, in case you've forgotten,"
the older gave a surprised look, lightly tapping the girl's hand. "attitude, miss. i'm kind of your boss,"
Misaki giggled, "my bad,"
a pang of sadness hit Misaki in the heart as Ara's words registered in her mind. she was still kind of her boss, because she was lined up to be one of CØSMIC's main managers. now that four of the five girls were gone, she was back to being just a staff member, waiting for another group's debut to be announced.
Misaki couldn't help but wonder when that would be.
would she be a part of that? or was it too soon— did she have too much to relearn, meaning her debut would be pushed back again?
the doubtful thoughts were quickly pushed out of her mind as Ara scanned her badge against the keypad, the familiar cold air hitting Misaki in the face, waking her up.
oh how she'd missed that feeling.
the hospital's chilling temperatures sent a feeling of discomfort down the girl's spine, seeing as it was the place she lost her best friend.
though she tried so hard, the thoughts never left her mind. she wished she could stop relating everything to the loss of four of the most important people in her life, yet she couldn't. maybe someday she'd be able to, just not any time soon.
BigHit's low temperatures, however, sent a wave of comfortable nostalgia over the girl. it was the place she'd spent a majority of her happiest moments thus far, and it'd always be that.
