There's a certain aura that comes with the underground scene. The absence of tension, the underrated quiet, the peace that Yoongi feels.

There's no flashing lights. No nosy paparazzi. No shouting, screaming fans. There's no reason to have any bodyguards around him. There's just him, his glass of whiskey with two ice cubes and the music around him.

He's a regular here at Spade. Well, a recent regular. Disappearing from his record label for a few hours two nights out of the week has become a ritual recently.

Yoongi is always out looking, listening for new talent. It's always in the back of his mind. Like a constant reminder that he's never truly free from work. It wasn't until three weeks ago that he found some sort of solace and through that, an immeasurable amount of talent and a very unforgettable face.

He was brought to the building by a good friend of his. Seokjin often frequents Spade but always leaves before ten. They had come together one evening after work to destress. They sat at the bar and ordered drinks. They got comfortable, taking their jackets off as they waited for their drinks.

They sat for about an hour together before Seokjin called it a night. Yoongi said that he was going to stay for a few minutes more. He liked the vibe of the place. Seokjin never stays after ten. He always misses what's become Yoongi's favorite voice to hear.

Xia.

A mononym.

It's all she goes by and it's all you have to say around this area for people to know exactly who you're talking about. Covering Artists such as Lauren Hill, Koko Taylor and Jill Scott, her voice is smooth and soft. Yet still maintains the strength to carry without a mic.

She's covered India.Arie, Ida Cox and the like effortlessly. He's sure that she has perfect pitch just from hearing her the last couple of times that he's showed up.

Even now, as she takes the stage, as her voice sounds through the building, he can hear how stable it is. How effortlessly she flows from pitch to pitch. A God given talent. The kind that takes years to mature and train, she just has it.

With a bit of his own research, he's discovered that she's been singing since she was a little girl. She used to charge a whole quarter for people to listen to her sing on her porch. Her mother and father used to sit next to her proud and smiling. They'd snap pictures of her for memory and all.

Years later and here she is. She's grown with her voice, having the time to get used to it. She's learned its capabilities.

She's learned her limitations. At this moment, Yoongi doesn't think she has any.

Xia finishes her song and the people clap kindly for her with bright smiles on their faces. She gives a small bow before exiting the stage. As she always does after her set, she walks back to the bar.

She orders a glass of champagne and the bartender flashes her a smile before walking to make the drink.

"I hope you aren't here to try to sway me again, Mr. Min."

Xia turns her head to look at him. Of course, he's already looking at her.

"Possibly." He shrugs a little. "Or maybe I just really like the sound of your voice."

The depth of his vocal chords sends a chill up her spine. His voice is a soothing baritone with a bit of rasp to it. It's enough to make a woman shiver.

And shiver she does... subtly, of course.

"Mm." She tilts her head. "Is that so?"

She asks as she grabs the glass of champagne from Marty. She thanks the older gentlemen before sipping from the straw. Call her boujie but why ruin her lipstick this way?

"Do you always drink your champagne from a straw?" He asks, unblinking as his eyes focus on her.

"Rouge stains." She says softly as she returns the gaze.

"I'm sure it does." He drinks the final sip of whiskey in his glass as Xia drinks down her champagne. She sets the glass on the counter and pays for her drink before getting up to leave. Yoongi puts his jacket on and they walk out into the summer night.

After a few minutes of walking and a crossing of the street, he breaks the silence.

"Have you picked up my card at all?" He asks, curiosity in his tone.

"I have..." She admits as they walk down the street. The walkability of the city has always been great. Even though Yoongi drives here, he still walks her home every night that he goes to Spade.

"You have?"

"Mm. Not for the most innocent of reasons, though." She admits as they approach her apartment. She steps onto her porch and he licks his lips before meeting her gaze.

"I still would've answered."

"Would it have been worth it? I'm sure you can understand the depth of having your time wasted, Mr. Manager." Xia teases the last word.

Yoongi nods in amusement as he pokes his cheek with his tongue.

"How about you have the experience for yourself and let me know?"

"And if my time is wasted?" She challenges.

"If you really thought that it would be, would we be having this conversation right now?"

Xia smirks at him in amusement as he raises a brow. His gaze on her is warm and she looks from him to the streets around. He smiles at her as she unlocks her front door.

Stepping inside of the city apartment, she takes a chance on the alluring pull he has on her. All through the night, they give each other no rest. He hears the sweet sounds of her voice until the early morning.

A night well spent in either direction.

Champagne, Blues and rouge lipstick stains.
