Gale's POV

I cannot wait to go swimming. It's been like 2 days and I am about to DIE I tell you DIE!

I also am excited to play those karaoke games, because I want everyone else to hear how amazing Katniss's voice is. She thinks I forgot, I can tell, but I haven't, it's just with everything that went on yesterday, I didn't want her to be nervous on top of all the other things.

But she shall sing. Oh yes, she shall sing.

Katniss's POV

I am so glad Gale forgot about me singing on those karaoke games. My voice is bad, I am a horrible singer, and I would probably scare off the Victors if I sang in front of them. So the best option would be to not sing in front of anyone but myself.

In my head, I go over everything that has happened in the past 24 hours. I found out Peeta is in love with me. He's probably been in love with me since we lived in Area 12, because you cannot just fall in love with someone you just met that day. This isn't Frozen, this is reality. So that's why my favorite character in Frozen is Kristoff, because he gets it.

I might like Peeta. But I don't want to let myself fall for someone I just met.

Ugh life is complicated.

I don't even notice when I pull into the driveway.

"Catnip, we're here." Gale says, taking me away from my thoughts.

I nod, then take my keys out of the ignition, and get my stuff out of the car. The rest of the group parks in the front of the driveway. They all get out and follow us into the house.

Hiss.

Ugh I forgot about Prim's stupid cat. That thing hates me. She found him on the streets back when we lived in Area 12. He had worms in his ears, he was sick, had numerous infections from wounds he got from other animals, and was missing patches of fur. Prim begged Gale and I to let her keep it. We were both hesitate, because it was just another mouth to feed, but Gale gave in, and I did too eventually, but not without a fight. But we couldn't say no to Prim. She's our angel, and she was the only thing in the world keeping Gale and I sane when our mom went into a depression.

Annie squeals. "Aw Katniss is this yours? He's so cute!"

That thing is the ugliest creature I've ever set my eyes on. "No, he's our sister Prim's. Careful, he's the devil's spawn."

As I say that, Buttercup starts slinking around Annie's legs and purrs. She smirks. "Devil's spawn, huh?" she says, reaching down to pet him.

I roll my eyes. "Don't be fooled. He acts like the perfect pet when we have people here, but when it's just us, he goes crazy. I have a ton of scars on my legs from when he sunk his damn claws in them." I rolled my pants up to my knees to show them the proof.

Annie rolls her eyes. "I don't believe that this adorable thing could have done those."

"We'll believe it Annie! That thing is evil!" I exclaim.

"I agree with Brainless, cats are bad...very bad." Johanna says.

"Thank you Johanna." I say. "At least someone is on my side."

We all head towards the basement, which is where the pool is located. Everyone drops their stuff down on the floor.

"Wow, Katniss, your house is really nice." Glimmer says.

"Thanks, but your house is way cooler." I answer honestly.

"Thank you, but sometimes it gets lonely being in a big house with nothing but some maids, a butler, and a cook to keep you company. That's why I have friends over a lot." Glimmer drifts off, a sad look on her face.
