I was anxiously pacing my bedroom. A million thoughts clouded my mind, I can't believe this was happening. I felt like a kid again, Athena coming to my house after school was far too familiar.

But we're not kids. We haven't been for a while, but all I know with her is being kids. I don't know how to talk to her anymore. I didn't know her anymore and that broke my heart. I just want to know her again.

I was pacing back and forth unsure of what to do to delay the inevitable. She was coming in 20 minutes or so all I knew is it was going to be fucking awkward. Yay.

I was about to go try and find her because she was half an our late witch was stressing me out even more but as soon as I approached the door I heard a gentle knock from the other side. This was too familiar.

I shook as I slowly opened the door barely breathing from anticipation. She stood on the other side of the door in a oversized hoodie and her bottoms from earlier that day, she also wore her clear famed glasses over her eyes with her curls thrown up in a loose ponytail.

She was beautiful. It hurt so badly to look at her, all that I had lost.

"Hi" she spoke softly staring at her feet avoiding eye contact with me. I could tell she was nervous too, we had that in common at least.

"Hey Athena" I said, it almost felt wrong using her name. "Come in, I've set up upstairs so we can work on the project" She nodded and spoke a quick yes under her breath and followed me inside. I ushered her inside trying to normalise this situation as much as possible.

we were silently making our way through the house to the staircase when I heard load footsteps coming towards us. "ATHENA IS THAT YOU" I heard my mother screech. Oh god here we go.

We both turned around simultaneously to my mums gushing smile. She hauled Athena into a tight hug. "My dear I've missed you so much!" I stood there wanting to die for a solid 30 seconds before she let her go.

"I've missed you too Miss Keery" she said politely, although she was clearly a bit uncomfortable she sounded sincere. "Dear how long have I known you? I'm sure u can call my by my name" my mum let out a loud laugh as she spoke.

Athena smiles at her "off course, Grace" she hesitated before the name, probably feeling awkward and weird. This whole conversation has been awkward and weird, I'm just stood here getting serious daja vu.

"Err mum, we have a project so could we just...go upstairs" I spoke scratching the back of my neck.

"Upstairs?!" My mum spoke raising an eyebrow. Oh god I gave her a 'really' look wanting to absolutely disappear in the moment, I can't even begin to think how Thena feels right now.

"Yes mum, upstairs for our project." I said sarcastically trying to get her to back of slightly so this could be a little less painful.

"Fine loves go upstairs do your project, Athena your staying for dinner we must catch up" she said still pressuring her. Athena fidgeted on a feet probably trying to come up with an excuse but then she turned to look at me. Me. She gave me a pleading look but I want sure what she was trying to ask me.
