Devin's POV

I've always been the one to follow the rules when they apply, but except for when I'm bored because that point everything is free reign.

I've done and do stupid things in my life, and only few time I've thought it would lead to my being in a holding cell in the police station, yet this is one of those moments.

"You're really something else Dev." Matty looks at from the bench across the cell.

"I get that a lot."

1 hours earlier

I spray the table then using a rag to clean the table. I only have an out left on the clock before I can check out, and so far time is moving is every so slowly.

After I finished cleaning my last table I went back behind the counter to change the coffee filter when the bell chimes.

"I'll be right with you." I say as I replace the filter with a new one.

I walk to stand behind the register, and I immediately regret it when I my eyes come in contact with her's. Avalyn.

Im just gonna pretend like I don't know her.

"Welcome to Honey's Bakery, what can I get you?" I smile.

"Nothing, but you can stay away from Marco." She scowls.

Don't laugh.

"I'm sorry. Do I know you?" I cock my head feigning confusion.

She leans forward on the counter "Don't play fucking games with me. Just stay away from Marco and no one gets hurt."

The fuck she thinks this is a movie.

"He's mine." It was when she said those next 2 words with full confidence is when I full blown laughed in her face.

"Girl- You're too funny." I laughed again "Got me cracking up."

"I'm not joking." If she could I'm pretty sure her glare would be shooting lasers through my head.

"And that's what makes it funnier, because you're deadass serious." I sober up, "For real though, if you really have a problem with me and Marco talk to Marco first, cause I honestly don't care for what you have to say."

She doesn't say anything, but glares harder like she's mentally manifesting for those lasers; so I continue, "I could call Marco if you'd like so we could all have this conversation right now if you'd like."

Her glare falters as I take out my phone clicking Marco's contact putting it in speaker; the sound of the phone ringing fills the room.

Seconds later he answers, "Gorgeous?"

"Hey Sunshine someone would like to say something to you." My eyes maintains contact with Avalyn as I move the phone closer in her direction.

Her mouth opens and close struggling to find her words, so she groans rolling her eyes and walks out the door.

"Rose?" Marco was still on the other line.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to disturb you."

"It's okay, you're not disturbing me." He said. I can whimpering and crying in the background.

"Is someone crying?" I questioned.

"Yes, but he's fine. Just tied to a chair and bleeding a little." I can imagine him waving his hand carelessly.

"Are you deadass torturing someone right now?" I lower my voice.

"Yes, but you can still stay on the phone." He offers.
