Devin's POV
The cold air hits me and goosebumps rise on my skin as I step out of the shower, the towel bringing very little warmth.
After moisturizing and getting dressed in my pajamas I throw my curls into a loose ponytail before checking my phone.
Spams of Marco's calls and text pops on the screen. I click the phone icon calling him back.
"Rose! Are you okay?" The urgency in his voice make my brows furrowed.
"Yea I'm fine. What's up?" I get in bed, under the covers with the phone between my ear and shoulder.
"Why didn't you answer my calls?" He sounds distressed. I can just imagine the wrinkles in between his furrowed brows right now.
"I was in the shower. Was there something important." I open my water bottle and take a sip.
I hear him let out a deep sigh before talking, "No I just wanted to ask if I could stop by since we had to leave the parlor early."
I knew that wasn't the whole truth, but I wasn't going to push him.
"Oh okay, well you can come over I'll probably be asleep though, but you know where the key is."
"Don't you think it's creepy if I come into your house while your sleeping?" His voice is more relaxed than it was when he first answered his he call, and it was comforting.
"Only if your a pervert. Are you a pervert Sunshine?" I drawl out in suspicion.
"Dios Mío Rose! No!" He saids in disgust.
"I don't know.... I am pretty young compared to your age." I tease.
"Rose it's literally 3 year age difference- You know what? Doesn't matter I'll be their in 45 minutes."
"Alright I see you then. Actually I won't I'll be asleep." We said our goodbyes before hanging up the phone.
I rest my head on my satin pillow turning my head towards the TV watching New Girls.
I don't know why but TV always helps sleep, it's like a background noise, but as good as my sleep is that electrician bill ain't no joke.
After 2 episodes I turn off my TV snuggling deeper into the covers, and fully relaxed. Minutes of staring at nothing my eyes started to feel heavy until they closed allowing me to sleep.

The heat under the blankets were becoming unbearable, so with my eyes close I throw the covers off me, but the cool relief I was hoping for never came.
And at first I thought the sound of fire crackling was a part of the dream, but it was when I blinked open my eyes struggling to breathe that I knew it wasn't a dream.
The smoke stings my eyes as I look around seeing it fill my room just as fast as it was filling my lungs. It felt like I was suffocating.
Fuck I can't breathe.
I swiftly get up and run towards the door, I twist the knob but it doesn't budge, it's locked.
Why didn't the fire alarm go off?
I try opening in with force but my strength was low. Tears cloud my vision as I feel my airway closes makes my wheezing turned into hacking.
I can't think rationally with the pain in my chest intensifying every second I try to breathe. I hack into the palm of my hand trying get at least an ounce of air.
