Devin's POV
I slowly and smoothly remove my body from under Marco's, letting my bare feet make contact with the soft grey rug.
It's an hour after midnight and I woke for the first time. I was planning going back to sleep but I couldn't and I felt a really strong urge to take a shower, so that's what I'm doing.
My feet softly pads against the wooden floor as I make my way to the bathroom. I turn on the shower to the hottest setting before getting in and closing the glass for behind me.
Unfortunately I couldn't preform my annual concerts today because I wanted to be mindful of the sleeping Marco.
When I got out the shower I dried off, and put on one of Marco's grey button up shirts. Originally I was going to wear a black one but I couldn't find one, or any black clothing besides his slacks and shoes.
I took the chance to cleans yesterday's mess while Marco was still asleep. Taking the trash downstairs I go to the kitchen to throw it away, and also get me a water bottle.
I give myself a pat on the back for not running through the house like I'm on the verge of insanity like I usually do when I travel through a dark house.
It's the safest way for the ghost to not get me.
I tiptoed back up the stairs, but when I get to the room I see Marco sitting at the edge of the bed with his head down and his hands tightly gripping his hair as he mutters to himself.
After I did a little prayer and walked into the room he still doesn't look up, so I gently tap his shoulder.
He abruptly snapped his head up, startled, with wide eyes before wrapping his arms around. I stand in between his legs as he nuzzles himself into my stomach.
"You okay Sunshine?" I thread my fingers through his soft curls as he shakes his head.
"I thought it was dream. I thought you were gone again." His voice cracks as he whispers and my heart clenched. He sounded so drain and broken, and I didn't know how to help him.
His arms reluctantly drop from my waist as I squat down looking him in his eyes that held so much worry, it was killing me.
I grab his face between my hands softly rubbing his stubbled cheeks with my thumb, "Hey. Hey. I am never leaving you. Okay? No matter what. Even if I wanted to leave, which I won't, you won't let me slip through your fingers. We're set stone Sunshine, okay?" I smile softly.
His dark brown eyes boring mine with such emotion, it's almost overwhelming, but I liked it. It was such a raw and rare emotion that you don't see in everyone.
Marco nods his head in my hands taking a deep breathe mirroring my smile, "Set in stone, gorgeous."
I kiss the crown of his head then his nose, eyelids, cheeks, and then finally his soft lips. It was light, soft kiss that made my stomach flutter. If I was a fairy I would accidentally start flying.
"Set in stone, baby." I whisper against his lips, before standing up with a clap of my hands, "Now let's have sex."
He chuckles gripping the back of my thigh bringing me closer, "As much as I want to, and I mean really want to; we can't." He unbuttons his shirt I'm wearing, "Your burn needs to heal."
The tip of his nose drags against my mid drift as he places kisses along my stomach and his hand traces the tattoo on my thigh, as I tangle my fingers through his hair.
He looks up at me resting his chin on my stomach, "Let's go back to sleep."
We climb back into bed back in the same position we were in before, him on top of me with his head on my chest, but this time it's a little different. His head is more closer to the left instead of the middle, as he softly close his eyes.
