I was just playing with y'all last chapter it's not over yet.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Marco's POV
I run through the house and to her room. The heat of the smoke cause sweat to drip down forehead.
I run to her door without thinking my hand grabs the knob, and I hiss jerking away from the door. "Come on Rose." I barge the door open and there she lays unconscious on the ground with a burn to her left side. I run to her, but she disappears.
"Why didn't you save me Sunshine?" I turn my head to see Rose standing behind me soot covers her face and clothes.
The warm feeling I would get from the nickname alone was replaced dreadful, pained weight.
"I tried Rose. I tried." I plead tears cloud my vision.
"Not hard enough." It was mere whisper, but audible. She looks me in my eyes her brown ones filled with unshed tears and pain as the flames engulf her and a gut wrenching scream escape her lips.
"NO!" My yelling did nothing, but add to the noise of the flames and her scream simmered into nothing.
"ROSE!" Tears flood my face, and I felt completely, utterly useless.
"ROSE!" My eyes snap open, tears flood down my face, and my shirt drenched in sweat.
A sob breaks from my lips then another after the next, and I couldn't stop them from leaving me.
I haven't been able to sleep for the last 6 days and when I do the nightmare plays. I look at the clock next to the bed it's 3:07am.
I get out of bed, go shower, and I get in the car and drive. I didn't have specific place in mind I just wanted to drive. I take the keys out of the ignition and turn to look at the building. I get out of the car a small smile lays on my lips.
"Wow. An abandoned building, you really know how to make a girl swoon." She looks up at the abandoned apartment fanning herself with her hand.
I walk up the fire escape to the roof, and when I reach the top all I can do is stare at the spray painted wall with the sun and the rose.
I sit down on on the floor my arms propped up on my knees, and a tear rolls down my cheek. "I'm sorry Rose. I'm so sorry. It shouldn't have been you."
The ringing of my phone captures my attention. I wipe the tear off my cheek looking at the unknown call number causes my whole demeanor to change.
"You know you have some nerve, but best believe I will kill you with my bare hands and throw your ass off a damn roof." I answered the phone.
"Now what would dear Devin say if she heard you now?"
"She'd laugh before calling you a little bitch. Now why the fuck are you calling me?"
"No need to be angry Marco, I'm just calling to see how your doing?" The German asshole speaks.
"Why the hell are you calling me?" My patience already wearing thin.
"Like I said, to see how you're doing. It's such a shame a pretty face like her's had to go up in flames."
"You don't get to talk about her. You don't even get to think about her." I seethe through the phone.
"You know I watched." His words causes me to still and my breath leaves me, "Sat in the car watching as her room was in flames. Watched her pathetic attempt to breakdown the door I locked. I watched as she panicked, crazy thing about asthma is it was the reason why she didn't have enough oxygen to call for help."
