"Chris,Chris, can I come in".

"Am sorry to bother you can you Please take me to the salon Jaydan doesn't want, he said his tired so please take me I will add some extra cash on your allowance this month for helping me" .

You don't have to I will drive you.let me change my t-shirt". I get stand up to change my t-shirt and I grab the keys to my car.

"Hey don't worry we will use my car I don't want to use you petrol am sure you were worried about gas money when I said you should drive me".

Okay then let's go. I thought you can drive eyy.

"No sweetie I can't I get scared when I see many cars and I know it's strange. She releases a small laughter".

As am driving her she asks if I have a girlfriend and I act like I didn't hear her, she asks again.

"Do you have someone in your life?" when I look at her I notice that she is filled with curiosity.

Nop I don't, I don't really focus on love I just don't think I believe in love.

"I think you should try to or you will grow up alone and lonely and it's not a good thing eyy. Lonely people end up killing them selves and I don't want that to happen to you. Don't you want to have kids". Amazed by my reply to her question".

I haven't thought about having kids.Maybe it hasn't sank in my brain.Maybe someday I will think about no but do now I don't.I say that as I open unlock her door.

"I hope you will. Thanks a lot I owe you for that. You can go home I will call you because you might wait her for almost three hours".

Am okay with that so I will wait for your call. I drive back home and I find a black Toyota packed on the way so I pack next it. In my head am asking if Jaydan invited his girlfriend over but then when I enter I find Jaydan and Richelle sitting together and the moment she sees me she becomes quiet and glares at me. I reach out to greet her.

Hy I didn't know you were friends with jaydan.

"Actually am here to see you". She looks down as if she's embarrassed of what she is saying.

Jaydan "Let me leave you guys". He leaves us looking at each other".

So what can I get you?

"Nah Jaydan offered me juice already. I brought your t-shirt". I didn't want to be regarded as a thief. I also wanted to thank you for helping me the other day".

Nah you didn't have to. It's okay I mean if it was you you could have done the same thing for me isn't?

"I struggle reply but then he decides to take his t-shirt from my hand as I was looking deep into his eyes. As soon as I notice that I don't have his t-shirt on my hand I come back to reality".

Okay than thanks. Let me walk you out then and I stand up to lead the way.

"So where were you"? Trying to create a conversation with him.

I was at the salon. Did you wait for too long?

"No I didn't so you already found someone, that's nice at least she will familiarize you with the place".

No I was dropping of my stepmom at the salon. I don't see my self falling in love. I laugh to hide my embarrassment.

"Why not? What if theres someone who really cares about you".

They will eventually care less as time goes on I mean it's always like that. Even if I were to love someone today tomorrow that person can have feelings for someone else just like she had feelings for me so I rather not waste my times with something that can be turned off and on at anytime. Why are you asking me all these questions. I say this as I lean on her car. I could see that she was despondent about what I said. I could see that she's holding back her tears.

"I was just asking.I was trying so hard to prevent myself from crying but then I couldn't hold them back any longer I mean how can he say all those hurtful words to me after I came open heartedly to thank him.I know he isn't telling me that but it feels like it I hope he isn't doing it on purpose if he doesn't like me he can just say so. I will try to understand ".

That's my stepmom I have to go am sorry. I turn my back on her and drive off. As am driving I try to understand why she was crying but I don't. I arrive at the salon and Jane isn't there when I check my phone I find a missed call and a massage that reads "A friend gave me a ride to the grocery shop am sorry you can go home she will drop me off. I drive back home and I see a familiar car and when I see Franceur I remember the day we meet.

Hy Franceur your sister is not here.

" Fuck you don't hy Franceur me motherfucker". I land a quick punch and he uses his car to balance himself. As I was to land another punch he blocks it and pushes me back. This guy is strong damn".

Hy bruh what's... And another punch lands on my left eye and I hit the ground this time. I started feeling dizzy and all I could hear was Jaydan shouting my name. After a few seconds I try to stand up and Jaydan comes to help me get inside.

"Take this and put it on your eye bruh. What the fuck was that, why was he smoking you like that".

I dont know bruh but then his richelle's younger brother. Am sure richelle was still crying when she got there that's why.

"Man don't ever let someone smoke you like that even if you were wrong".don't remove that ice put it there, it will help you.

Nah it's alright his just a small boy.I head to my room and lay on my bed and I fall asleep till jaydan wakes me up so that we can eat super. I head downstairs and before I could explain to Jane she starts feeling sorry for me.

"Chris, No, no, no I didn't think it was this bad am sure those thugs just wanted something to sell so that they can smoke am really sorry I shouldn't have asked you to drive me". She says all that while observing my bruises.

I look at Jaydan to because thats not what happened am sure he didn't want her to know that the was a girl in between. It's okay am okay and its not your fault I went to the shop because I wanted something so it's not your fault. Jaydan winks at me after I said that. I sit down and we eat super. When I was done Jane gives me painkillers but then these ones are different from the ones that Jaydan gave me and I head upstairs, as soon as I lay my body on my bed I fell asleep.
