Formal formal formal formal.
Two weeks and that's all anyone was talking about.
Charlie and Sam were going and already picked out what they were going to wear to the formal and to the after party. Mia and Lachlan weren't so organised and if they weren't in school or studying, they were shopping around trying to find the most perfect dress for her and a nice tie and shirt for him to match hers. Jacob, who had pretty much disappeared for a few weeks, had returned and was sort of keeping his distance from me again.
I heard through the gossip vine that Jenner Lewis, the girl I defended and everything, had asked him to the dance and he had said no flat out. No ifs or buts about it and she (again) blamed me and ran off.
Jacob had actually asked me to the dance not long ago and I had gracefully declined. Since he hadn't been around lately, I hadn't asked why and when I had he had avoided my questions, so he didn't know that I was kind of in a relationship with Oscar and sadly he didn't ask me in person.
Jacob Jones: Evie, you got a date for the formal yet?
Evie Langford: nope.
Jacob Jones: well I was wondering if you would want to go with me?
Jacob Jones: not as friends, not both of us going stag I wanted us to both go together as a date.
Jacob Jones: I want you to be my date for the dance Evie.
Jacob Jones: hello?
Evie Langford: sorry i'm with someone. And i'm so sorry Jacob but since you hadn't been around lately (still waiting to find out where you had been btw) you wouldn't have known that i'm actually with someone. I met him through the theatre company I work at and things kind of took off from there... i'm really sorry
Evie Langford: like really sorry Jacob.

Ever since he has avoided me and our friends like the plague.
But you read correctly my friends, I am finally after a long awaited seventeen years I am finally in a relationship with a boy who is perfect for me. We had been out several times and even though we weren't Facebook official (not that I give a shit what anyone else thinks) we knew where we stood.
Since Mera Mesa was literally down the road from Clairemont, it wasn't hard to see each other and since we both worked at the theatre group, it made life a lot easier for us. He had even gone out to meet my mother for dinner one night and she was in love with him the moment she saw him. Everyone said the same thing about him, that he was charming and witty but they didn't see what I saw. I saw all his flaws and his imperfections and I didn't care. He saw all of mine and still had the nerve to tell me I was beautiful to him. He even introduced me to all his friends last weekend while I was working.
I had a feeling some of his friends partake in a herbal plant that has a very nice effect on the human body and when they saw I worked at a yogurt shop, let's just say our sales went a little higher than normal and I got a very nice pay rise due to this. I told my boss that my friends were coming in to see me and if this was a problem I would tell them to not come but when she looked at the till she begged me to bring more in.
I had even met his parents and they simply adored me and I know this because his mother, Gwen would not stop touching me. My hair, my hands and my cheeks as she went on and on about how I was making her boy so so happy. Her father seemed like just an old man who loved life. Oscar had gotten his looks from his mother, a gorgeous light auburn hair while he got his wit and charm from his father. They were both the sweetest things together and I honestly loved going over there for a bit of 'tea and scones'.
