Hi, it's Oshun.
Me. I'm Oshun. But you already know that, so I don't know why I wrote that. Moving on.
I decided to write this letter for you guys as an explanation because I know I'm not going to have enough time to explain myself before I run out of time.
I know I'm dying, so I'm writing this ahead of time.
I don't know if I should be writing in past tense or present tense. It's a little confusing because when you read this, I'll be dead. But as I write this, I'm alive and breathing. Not well, but alive.
As I write this, Fred, you're asleep right next to me. It's past midnight. I kissed you on the forehead and you're clinging onto my thigh as you sleep so peacefully.
It makes me sad to think I won't be able to see you sleep peacefully anymore.
I know you're both angry with me. I know. You have every right to be angry. I'm truly sorry about lying about my sickness. I guess I just didn't want to burden everyone with it. I don't know.
But I still believe you deserve an explanation, so here it goes. I also apologize for the messy writing. My hands won't stop shaking. I hope you can still read this without trouble.
Right. So let's start at the beginning. When my mum was pregnant with me, she was very sick. Sick with something we don't even know the name of.
She and my dad went to a Healer's house and his name was Healer White. He gave my mum a vial that healed her from her sickness.
In the vial was something called the silver lilac. Draco, I know you've heard about it. But for you, Fred, I'll explain what it was.
The silver lilac was a flower and there was only ever one of them planted in over centuries. The silver lilac possessed the ability to rid anyone who isn't pure.
Theodore Nott's father knew Healer White and demanded him to keep the vial with the silver lilac safe. White didn't listen. He used it on my mother to save her and myself.
Before you start throwing things around and smashing mirrors, Draco, I'm talking about you, keep reading.
White didn't know that the silver lilac was dangerous to those who aren't pure. The only person who knew that was Nott Sr.
My mother wasn't affected by the silver lilac because she is pure and I'm not. The silver lilac gave me powers when I was born.
I don't even think I'd go as far as calling them powers. More like abilities.
These abilities allowed me to heal wounds and it protected me. Protected me in the sense it guided me away from danger, sort of. Kind of? I don't know how to explain it.
But my abilities could also take away physical pain, but not emotional.
Draco, that's how I saved you when Theodore stabbed you. I was demanded not to use my abilities in case it would worsen my health, but I needed to save you.
I knew about being sick for months and so did my parents. Fred, that's why they left during holiday when you were at my house.
They needed to find out what was going on because they didn't want people finding out about my abilities in case it would bring danger to me.
That was when they found out about the dangers of the silver lilac. That was when they found out Nott Sr. was the one looking for the silver lilac to kill all who aren't pure.
That was when they found out I was going to die.
The silver lilac ran through my veins like blood, so there was no saving me. And Draco, before you start suing people for irrational reasons, continue this letter.
