Bio: Cardin is the Leader of Team CRDL, a ragtag group of racist bullies that were infamous in Beacon Academy. Cardin primarily bullied Jaune for a time, due to the boy appearing weak before he set his sights on Velvet Scarlatina of Team CFVY by pulling on her ears. Cardin continues to pick on Jaune anytime he can, even during classes when the Professors around. He's not shy to make his discrimination towards faunus known, but was annoyed when Pyrrha Nikos called him out on his bigotry.
On the roof, shortly after, Jaune reveals that he lied his way into Beacon, and then sends away Pyrrha in a form of frustration and depression. Cardin appears before him and reveals that he heard their conversation from his dorm. He then promises not to tell Jaune's secret, calling him a "friend" and putting him in a headlock, stating they will be friends for a long time as long Jaune is there for him.
Jaune goes on to be Cardin's errand boy, having him do their homework and do favors for them.But Cynthia caught on to the fact that Jaune was being blackmailed and had Ospin keep tabs on him. This only serves to drive Cardin to get back at Pyrrha. They fill their jars with sap from Forever Fall the next day and gather a few Rapier Wasps to sick on Pyrrha and attack her.
His teammates start to grow worried that Cardin was taking things too far, but Cardin intimidates them into following the plan. Even though Cardin threatened his team, they were still hesitant about hurting anyone. Then, they were attacked by a wild Regirock, sending them all running away and leaving Jaune to fend for himself. Luckily, Cynthia, Jaune, Ruby, and Pyrrha were there to save him and his team.
After the fiasco ended, Cynthia's Lucario tells everyone about Cardin's scheme to their surprise and Glynda's disbelief. Pyrrha was about to assault him when Jaune went ahead and punched Cardin across the face, warning him to stay away from his friends before leaving him.
It can be assumed that Cardin took a really hard look at himself, and started reevaluating his life choices. After the attack in downtown Vale, Cardin asked for one of the dangerous Pokemon, Toxapex, to be given another chance. Cynthia, moved by his plea, wholeheartedly agreed and even let him become Toxapex's trainer. He has since then started to learn more about Pokemon, having a Chespin as his starter before evolving it into Chesnaught through vigorous and unforgiving training.
