Bio: Not much is stated about Jaune's background. It is known that he comes from a lineage of Huntsmen and mentions that his great-great-grandfather, from whom he inherited CroceaMors, fought in the Great War. He also mentions that he grew up with seven sisters.
Jaune came to Beacon Academy knowing nothing about combat, huntsmen training, aura, Semblances, etc. He faked his transcripts to sneak in and is by far the weakest in Beacon. He's also a bit of an airhead, not knowing who Pyrrha Nikos was until Weiss mentions that Pyrrha is shown on Pumpkin Pete's Marshmallow Flakes Boxes.
Before the opening ceremony, Jaune had encountered Ruby and the mysterious woman, Cynthia and tagged along with them to find the amphitheater where the ceremony was taking place. Jaune asked about their weapons, with Ruby showing off her scythe, Crescent Rose and Cynthia saying she had none. Jaune looks at Cynthia's Pokéballs and asked what they were with Cynthia answering him vaguely.
During Initiation, Jaune and Pyrrah encountered two Pokémon: Stufful and Growlithe. Stufful hated being hugged or picked up by Jaune and responded with a brutal hit to the with her paws. After being named team leader, Cynthia explained to both Team RWBY and Team JNPR where she came from and what Pokémon were. It isn't clear as to what he will do next, but Cynthia sees potential in him and becoming a great trainer as well as a Team Leader.
