Broken

That night I went to bed crying and screaming.I hate that man. I spent hours and hours trying to get to sleep but of course my mind,my worries and my fear kept me up.I turned to my side and looked at my alarm clock,it was 11:20 "mom should be home soon" I thought to myself. Although I was anxious to tell my mom what a horrible man she had married,I was still afraid. I had heard about people that had divorced parents and it seemed terrible,"I don't want my family to be like that" I whispered as if someone who cared was there listening. As I turned to began "sleeping" I heard as I suspected,my Father slowly walking up the stairs,clunking his feet in a sort of rhythmic motion. He softly knocked on my door and quietly said "Vanessa", I could tell by the tone of his voice that he really didn't want to talk to me. " what?" I said very flatly, "can I come in" he asked, "yes" I said as he opened the door,he slowly sat down on my bed and I sat up wiping the tears and the mascara that had ran down my face. "I'm sorry" he said with the most fake look on his face,I ignored him " please just don't tell your mom", " it was one time,she kissed me" he said trying to get closer and put his arm around me,"yeah I could tell" I say pushing his arm off my shoulders."are you going to tell your mother?" He said standing up and walking to my window, before I answered him i thought to myself "if I tell him I'm going to he will just lie to her but if he doesn't know he won't have time to argue because he will be at his stupid job that apparently helps us "survive" which we all know is a lie since he is a janitor for a hotel and my mom is a police officer. "No i forgive you I won't tell mom" I say trying to lie as best as I could, "thanks sweetie it won't happen again I feel terrible"he said as he as he kissed me on the head. He walked to my door and started walking out but before he left he turned and said "get some sleep honey", "and again I feel terrible", look at him how can he live with himself?, I know I don't want to live with him, because of him our family is going to be broken.
