When it got to lunch, I realised there were five new boys.
Two of them just weren't in my last few classes.
Word had spread around the school of who they are, since all the girls were practically flaunting over them, like always.

The taller one was known as Soobin, and his friend with slightly longer hair was Yeonjun.
The five of them sat together around one table, happily chatting away.
I could see how tense Kara was, as their table was right next to Jungkook's table.

Ji Woo turned to me. "Should we go talk to them?" She asked.
"I think we should." Gabs said, eyeing down Huening Kai.
"All three of us?" I said. "We'll look like all the other girls that are like, head over heels for them."
Ji Woo sighed. "Well maybe we can finally find you a boyfriend."

"I don't want one! Plus I've got a date with Hyunjin tonight, if that puts you at ease." I said, lowering my voice.
I saw Hyunjin glance at me with a smile, before returning back to his conversation with Seungmin.
"Well, I'm just single, no dates or anything. I'm going over." Gabs said, pulling her bag over her shoulder as she walked off.
The boys didn't pay any mind to it, as they debated over the best video games.
Boys, I tell you.
I sighed, as I grabbed at Ji Woo's hand, following Gabs.

"Gabs." Taehyun said, nodding her way.
"Taehyun. Whilst I would love to talk to you, I actually have business with Huening Kai. Blonde looks nice on you, by the way." She said, sitting between Huening Kai and Taehyun.
"Thanks." Huening Kai said, moving away from her slightly, to which she sighed.

Ji Woo ran over first, squishing herself between who I assumed Yeonjun and Soobin was, pulling me with her.
"We wanted to say hi.. and I'm in your classes, so." I said, trying to avoid meeting their eyes.
I felt so judged.
"It's fine, really. Jungkook told us a bit about you, anyway. Jimin, too, but he's been focused in his love life so." Beomgyu sighed.

"All good things, I assure you." Soobin smiled.
Ji Woo stood up, wandering over to her boyfriends table.
I expected her to go to his side, but instead she went to Kara's, gripping her arm.

"Come talk to the cute new students, come on." Ji Woo grinned.
Kara pushed her off.
"I'm okay, really." She said, to which Ji Woo grabbed for her again.
"They don't bite! It's fine!" Ji Woo said, pulling her from her seat.
I could see Kara's hands shaking, as Ji Woo sat her down.
Right in between Taehyun and Beomgyu.
Jimin glanced her way, as she sat in silence, looking down at her hands.

"Kara are you okay?" I asked, leaning forward.
She nodded. "Yeah I- excuse me." Kara said, standing up and walking off.
Soobin glared at Beomgyu, leaving him to shrug as he walked off.

"So, Y/N, yeah? Tell us about yourself." Soobin asked, smiling at me.
"There's not much to tell, honestly." I chuckled dryly.
"Why don't I hear about you?"

Soobin just laughed. "Alright then. Well I was born in Ansan, and moved here to Wonju."

They all started introducing themselves one by one, talking small details and big, randomly joking with each other whilst keeping me and Ji Woo in the conversation.
Gabs was just talking quietly with Huening Kai.

"You see, I remember that night very clearly. Kara does too, which is why I want to ask you, did you guys mean it? When you said we could be friends?" Gabs finally asked.
Huening Kai looked at her, and sighed. "Of course I wasn't lying. Although, I know for a fact Kara isn't interested."
Gabs scoffed. "She can stick it at the moment. Didn't you realise she sits with BTS now?"
"Indeed she does." Huening Kai said, noticing where her bag sat.

"She's going to have to learn to deal with you guys eventually, saying she's practically joined them." Gabs sighed, looking around.
Kara and Beomgyu still hadn't returned.
Gabs turned to me.
"Y/N, can you go find Kara?"
"Why me?" I asked.
She rolled her eyes. "You're closer with her at the moment than I am. Please."

I stood up, waving goodbye as I walked off.

I knew Kara well enough to know she was probably on the roof.
If Beomgyu had followed her, he would be there too.
What I heard that day, I know she was probably scared.
Ji Woo didn't remember that night. Of course she didn't.
But I did, and I heard the gun.
So I was terrified for her.

As I pushed the door open, I saw her sitting against a wall, Beomgyu standing next to her.
They were talking civilly, but still.
I stood around the corner, trying to listen closely.
The wind muffled half of the conversation, but I could hear enough to make out sentences.

"Did you mean it? We could've been friends? Is that why BTS enrolled you?" Kara whispered, her head in her knees.
"Well, no. They needed help. But yeah, if you want to put it behind you we could probably be close. I heard you've switched sides?" He questioned.
"Pretty much. They helped me escape, from that prison, I suppose. I only talk to Felix now." She sighed. "I miss them, but they don't miss me."
Beomgyu just nodded, before he moved to sit down next to her, going to touch her shoulder, but he refrained.
It was the one he had shot at, so he pulled his hand back.

"I'm sure they do- you'll figure it out. Friends always make up." He reassured.
"For all I know I'm being used for this stupid mission. Of course I am, I'm a girl too." She chuckled dryly.
"I don't want to go through with it when I don't know why we're doing this! My group is lying to me, so is BTS, and all I've got is Y/N. She's all I've got but I have to lie to her too!" Kara exclaimed, raising her head, tears falling down.
"My parents lied to me. I hate lying. It always ends in something bad."
Beomgyu smiled slightly. "If it makes you feel any better, I wouldn't lie to you. I don't know what Stray Kids are hiding, or what BTS knows. I just have been ordered to monitor the mission from the sidelines."

"You shot me, dude." She said, glaring at him before sighing.
"So did Jeongin, though. I can't be that mad."
She moved closer to him, placing her head on his shoulder.
"You're a nice guy."
"I try to be." He said, placing an arm around her.

"You know Jimin well, yeah?" She asked.
He nodded. "Well enough, yeah. Why? Did he do something..?"

"I kissed him, and he kissed me. I was drugged that night, sure, but.. I feel really guilty." She said, glancing at him.
"Sorry for asking you for advice, but I think I like someone else as well. Not just him..."
"I am no relationship expert, sorry. Soobin or Yeonjun would be able to help you way better. I'll get them to speak to you. But, I think you should just go along with what you've got."

She nodded.
"My group will never speak to me again."

"Well, your happiness should come first. Us mafia members have a heart too."

I had heard enough, trying to get back inside.
But the janitor had locked the door, and when I tried to open it, it made a loud clang.
That gained Kara's attention, as she stood up, glancing at Beomgyu, nodding as she felt at her side.
Turning the corner, she sighed.

"Y/N, were you spying on us?" She asked, walking closer to me.

I had already guessed she was involved in a gang somehow, but not the mafia.
That's why I was terrified, as I backed against the door.
She raised an eyebrow, placing her hands in front of her.
"I'm not going to hurt you. It's a simple question. So what did you hear?"

"You're apart of the mafia..." I whispered.

She sighed.
"I really wish you didn't hear that part, Y/N. Now you're in for a whole lot of shit."
