New Beginnings

Part 5

Previously - y/n finds out her pizza order is the same as Tammy's and then gets formally introduced to Rose. They talk for a while and Rose is the first to find out about y/n's current situation.

TW- I just want to say there's brief chat in this about struggling with mental health. I know it's probably nothing but I just want to let you know incase it's a topic in general you'd like to avoid reading.

Rose - "Hey are you sure you're okay?"

Y/n - "Uh yeah im sorry its kind of been a lot to deal with and I'm just a little sensitive sometimes."

Rose - "You don't need to apologise honey. If you ever want to talk about it I'm always here or at my office. Here I'll give you address."

She grabs some scrap paper and writes down an address which you take and place in your pocket.

Rose - "But please whatever you do, don't give it up just yet okay. The same with school, Im sure you could talk to someone and get some help and you spoke about a councillor-"

Y/n - "Look Rose I appreciate it I really do, but it's complicated and I don't think I'd be able to pass them."

Rose - "Wait so you could still do the exams then?"

Y/n - Uh yeah I guess so. After what happened they decided to differ them but I just don't think it's enough time. I mean I managed to do my portfolio work but that wasn't the best and I'm not the best in exams either so I think I'd just fail and-

Rose - Y/n please do them. I totally understand if there's been some issues in the past but this extra time is your opportunity. I've only known you for what two hours and I can already see in your eyes that you love it. I mean look at that outfit you have on! You're most definitely talented y/n. Don't throw all that away-

Y/n - I know Rose I just...

Rose - What sweetheart?

You freeze at the nickname and look into her eyes and immediately just pour out.

Y/n - "I just got into a bad mental state for a while and so I had to defer my year okay."

Rose looks at you sincerely and like she's there to now fully listen.

Y/n - "I mean yes technically I'm still doing finals in the summer but as of now, I'm just trying to save money and figure out if this is even the career for me. It's all just been a lot and I don't even know if I want to go back so..."

You don't know why it feels so natural to tell her all of this but she just seems genuinely kind and you feel safe in her presence. Like she understands.

Rose nods and goes to speak but Tammy is nearby and in your eye line. You spot her looking at you like she overheard what you said. You quickly make eye contact to confirm what you thought and smile back, before turning back to Rose and hoping she won't say anything. Sadly though it looks like that's not the case as you can see she is about to get up to say something and internally panic. That is until you feel a sudden relief from a knock at the door and it's the pizzas.

You all grab your orders and sit around to eat them. Lou lets you try hers and it's honestly so good! You end up convincing her let you have another slice and says she'll give you the order one day to remember.

Debbie still seems distant from you and you can't tell if it's because you are really getting on with Lou already or because you forgot her. You see her slide away for a drink and quickly excuse yourself to follow her but Tammy grabs your arm.
