Chan and Yona barely parted each other but as the night fell, the temperature dropped as well so they had to go back to the hotel. Walk down from the fields, through the town, and to the hotel was awkward, to say the least. Both of them wanted to be close, to at least hold hands but they just couldn't. Chan walked behind the princess, trying to hold in his blush and the urge to hold her.
At the hotel reception, Bang Chan booked a room for himself but only for the night. Hearing that, Yona's smile faded but she kept quiet. Her maid still wasn't back from the town's fair so the princess had an idea...
When they climbed to the princess's room, Chan bowed politely, "Well then, princess, I wish you a good night," he straightened up, meeting Yona's smiley face as she shook her head. The princess looked left and right, opened the door of her room, and pulled Bang Chan in. She quickly pushed him against the door to close it. Their eyes met once again, Yona came closer to him and, not breaking the eye contact, locked the door. Hearing the click of the key made Chan's body tense but he very quickly relaxed and his eyelids lowered.
"What you're doing is very dangerous, my princess..." his deep voice, almost like a growl, filled her ears and sent a pleasant shiver through her body.
"I know..." she whispered, placing her hand on his chest, "But I also know you, Bang Chan - you won't take advantage of me, correct? At least that's what you said a year ago. Do you still stand firm behind those words of yours?" she teased, Chan noticed her smirk.
He took a moment to just stare back into her eyes. His body tensed up again when Yona bit her lower lip - it was a move that drove him crazy every time he saw it. It was sheer willpower that stopped him not to take her and bite her lip instead every time she did it.
"That is what I said but remember..." Chan backed away from the door, making Yona drop the bouquet of tulips on the floor and walk backward, "I said I won't take advantage of you when you're at your low point, and now," he stopped just when Yona's heels hit the bed, "You seem like you're at your highest..." he stared at her for a good second until Yona's loud laugh broke the silence.
"I-I'm sorry for laughing..." she almost choked, "But... you look so intimidating," she laughed more until a hand stopped her. Chan grabbed her chin to bring her face back to him.
"You don't like it when I'm like that? Is it really that funny?" his voice was still deep and dark and Yona tried to soften it with her smile and a hug.
"No, I love it. It makes me excited but..." she broke the hug and looked at him again, "I just want you to be here with me tonight..." Yona bit her lip again but continued, "Last year, I was so depressed and hurt, all of those emotions bottled up, that I tried to use such a cheap trick to seduce you, thinking that would solve all my problems. I'm sorry about that... But, thank you for your self-control that night or we wouldn't be here now. Yeah, it took us some time but we both came to realize our feelings, got to know each other better, and I'm so happy about that," her eyes filled with tears and it was Chan who hugged her. He didn't like seeing her crying face - it made him weak - but he now did what he couldn't in the past: hearing Yona sniffle, Chan pulled her face to his and kissed her the way he wanted to a year ago, in hope that his kiss would comfort her, and make her feel better.
"I'm here, alright?" he looked at her and Yona nodded, "But I can't stay in the same room as you, you know I can't," his expression saddened.
"No, please! I missed you so much for so long and now that you're here--"
"But, what if your maid--"
"Princess Yona! Are you in here?!" a loud knock on the door broke their little argument as the maid called for Yona.
