The whole night and the following day, princess Yona kept throwing up even when no more food was left in her stomach. She was sent and admitted to the hospital, the doctor and nurses giving her urgent treatments, drawing blood for all kinds of tests and analyses, all while Chan waited in the hallway, walking up and down anxiously. Whenever he asked the nurse about the princess's condition, she would give him short answers, such as: "She's still not well", "We're doing our best" or "Not now, sir", and run in and out of her room. He couldn't rest - he would take short sips of water or tea that nurses offered him, continuing to think about everything that happened.

When he brought her in, Chan had to give her information to the hospital staff, telling them her identity in hope that they'll take better care of her. Upon hearing that they had an unconscious princess of an overseas kingdom in their hospital, a wave of shock hit the staff but they got serious and professional fast, giving their best to heal Yona.

It was already noon, Chan was sitting on one of the chairs in the hallway, his face buried in his hands when the doctor exited Yona's room with papers in his hands. Bang Chan jumped from his seat and approached the doctor, "How is she, doctor?" he asked.

Seeing his pale face and dark circles under his eyes, the older doctor placed his hand on Chan's shoulder, "You should go and get some rest, son."

Chan got angry because the man ignored his question so he asked again, "Tell me how is the princess, doctor," he demanded.

The doctor sighed and looked at the paper in his hand and then back at Chan, "Her condition is stable now, but she's too weak," he paused and the younger male waited for more explanation, "Our tests showed that Princess Yona is allergic to shellfish, specifically shrimp that she ate last night. Allergies can cause a severe, potentially life-threatening reaction known as anaphylaxis, you see, but the princess got lucky to not get that reaction, although her throat started swelling once she lost consciousness and her blood pressure dropped. You were quick to bring her in and we gave her adrenaline from those early symptoms before the case worsens. I'm guessing she didn't know that she was allergic otherwise, she wouldn't have eaten them."

Chan's shoulders sank. His mouth was dry but he pushed out a question, "Can I see her?"

The doctor pushed a weak smile and seeing how devoted and worried Chan was, he nodded, "She's asleep," he paused again, "We gave her medication and hope that her condition won't worsen, although we still need to monitor her... I guess you can go and see her."

Bang Chan let out a sigh of relief, squeezing the doctor's hand tightly, sadness and worry still lingering, "Thank you..."

"But keep it short, she needs rest," the doctor warned him, tapping Chan on the shoulder before he left.

Chan's heart started beating faster as he gripped the doorknob, slowly opening the door of Yona's hospital room. His heart dropped once he saw her: she was sleeping, her face pale and sick, her body barely noticeable under the covers, looking almost like a ghost on a large hospital bed. Bottles of different intravenous therapy hung around her bed, long tubes connected to both of her arms. Bang Chan came to the side of her bed, his hands shaking, afraid to reach and touch her as he thought that anything could break her. He dropped to his knees, gripping the end of the sheets she was covered with, finally letting out all of his pent-up anxiety in form of muffled sobs and tears.
