35. Gray clouds

Sun has already risen when princess Yona woke up. Cold wind from the outside hit her body, making her shiver as the layer of sweat on her body cooled instantly. She groaned and nuzzled into Chris's arm which was faintly hugging her. The time on Chris's pocket watch showed 8:30, meaning that they still had time to have breakfast at the hotel restaurant since they missed a 6 AM train for the capital.

"Darling, wake up," Yona whispered, caressing his cheeks, feeling a very small stubble under her fingers. Chris stretched with a groan, a wide smile forming on his face.

"Good morning, beautiful," he said while stretching, his eyes still closed.

"Good morning, my love," Yona replied, kissing his chin and cheek, "We missed the train..." she said and Chris's eyes shot open. He quickly sat up, looking at Yona with panic written on his face. She was smiling and caressing his thigh.

"What do you mean, we missed it?" Christopher jumped off the bed, still naked.

Yona continued smiling, enjoying the view, "Well, given the number of times we had sex..." she snickered, remembering each of those times, "It's only natural that we run out of energy and sleep through it. It's alright, we'll catch the afternoon train. Now, come here, dear Channie," Yona tapped the still warm area of the bed where he was lying, teasing her knight.

Suddenly, right after Yona's sentence, a strong cold wind blew into the room, making one of the window wings hit the wall. Chan closed the window completely and looked back at the princess, "I guess we won't go for a walk today..."

"I see that," Yona sat up, gripping the sheets on her body and looking out of the window, "Where did these gray clouds come from? It was perfectly clear and sunny yesterday. And I haven't brought any jackets or coats..." she pouted and Chan leaned to kiss her rosy lips.

"I'll lend you mine," he said and took her hand, kissing the back of it, "I can't let my princess catch a cold," Chan smiled and she followed.

Yona giggled and threw her arms around Chan's shoulders, kissing and pulling him back on the bed. They skipped breakfast that morning.

"Thank you for staying with us again, Your Highness... and Sir Bang," maids and receptionist bowed at them, the maids giggling at stoic Bang Chan.

"It's always a pleasure," Yona replied with a smile.

"Have a safe trip home," the staff greeted them out, waving at the two.

A carriage waited for Yona and Chan and took them to the train station. Bang Chan bought their tickets and after about 10 minutes of waiting for the train, they finally boarded it. They again had a single compartment for themselves, just like Chan instructed the conductor.

Yona stretched and leaned into her seat, across Chan. She sighed sadly, "Our vacation is officially over..."

"It is," Bang Chan replied, "But, just as I told you, nothing will change between us. We just have to be more... cautious," he added as the train started moving.
