Sickie/Little: Yeosang

Caregivers: Ateez

No one's POV.:

The longer Ateez was going without a break, the more Yeosang was running himself into the ground. He had started to feel a little under the weather a few days ago. It wasn't much at first, only him feeling more tired than usual, which might have been explained by the busy schedule they were following but he also felt so incredibly out of it. Simply following a conversation with his members was a struggle and he often pretended he hadn't been listening, when in reality, he had been listening but couldn't keep up with the content. Yeosang's head hurt and he knew that everything could be caused by him not having slipped in quite a while, if only there wasn't the low-grade fever he had developed. Feeling a little worse for wear, he had checked his temperature before heading out for their schedule and realized that he was indeed not just overdue to slip but also sick. Not sick enough to miss work but surely not healthy enough to participate with his whole heart. Since it wasn't too bad, Yeosang didn't want to tell anyone about it, which wasn't too difficult as he was usually rather quiet, so it took a long time till anyone caught on.

Wooyoung had stopped him after breakfast and asked if everything was alright because according to the younger, he looked sad. Giving his friend a tired smile, Yeosang assured: "I'm just tired, Woo. None of us really slept much recently and I can't wait for our next day off. I'm not even particularly sad, just running a bit low on energy." - "That's alright", Wooyoung smiled, "Are you planning to slip when we are on our next break?" Yeosang's headspace wasn't a secret anymore. He had slipped in front of the members once by accident and had to explain what was going on. Since then, the members were prepared to take care of him should he need it but the little still preferred to slip on his own. Yeosang nodded and hummed: "I probably won't even have a choice. Staying big is starting to give me a headache, so as soon as we're off, I'll have some little-time." - "That sounds like a good plan. You know I'll be there if you want me there, right? Just come talk to me, yeah?", Wooyoung agreed, giving the other a short hug before having to head out. They were lucky. Their next day off would be this weekend, so only a few more days away. Yeosang could hold on until then.

Since the older had opened up a little, Wooyoung felt reassured and didn't worry too much when the other was even more quiet than usual. He just made sure to carry a box of painkillers with him at all times in case Yeosang might end up needing something for his headache. Seonghwa too checked on his dongsaeng a bit later that day because when the younger eventually did end up speaking, his voice sounded strained and he had to clear his throat a few times. Yeosang gave him a similar story as he had given Wooyoung though Seonghwa didn't seem to believe it as easily. That might be because by now, Yeosang's eyes had taken on a sickly gloss, his fever rising.

Also sensing something off, Jongho had pretty much attached himself to Yeosang's side. He was a quiet and supportive presence that Yeosang couldn't be more grateful for. It was stunning, how their maknae could be so mature and controlled while the older members caused chaos. Jongho made sure his hyung always had his water bottle close by because his voice got fainter and fainter despite or maybe because he barely spoke. Though Yeosang appreciated it, it didn't help much and by the evening, his throat was on fire. He had also gotten progressively more stuffed up, frequently excusing himself to the bathroom so he could go and blow his nose. It only got worse as the days passed and the closer they got to their day off, the fuzzier his mind got. Maybe it was his little-side trying to come out or the fever, Yeosang didn't know but it wouldn't make a difference anyway. Both options were inconvenient while working.

They had finally finished their schedule and would be off the following day, so Yeosang already looked forward to sleeping in and probably spending the entire day in bed with his plushies. Though embarrassed, he didn't turn down the offer of getting the first turn showering and did his best to wash up as fast as possible, for one, because he wanted to go to bed as soon as possible and two, because he knew there were other people waiting for their turn. Trying to clear up the congestion, he had showered really hot but that only resulted in him getting lightheaded and needing to sit on the closed toilet lid while he brushed his teeth. Yeosang sluggishly made his way to his room, coughing into the crook of his arm and almost running into someone because he wasn't looking where he was going. "Are you okay?", Seonghwa asked, steadying the younger as he swayed on his feet. Though he didn't believe himself, Yeosang nodded, rasping: "'m tired and really want my bed." - "And that's exactly where we're going now", the oldest agreed, wrapping his arm around the other's waist and guiding him to his room. Once Seonghwa had his dongsaeng settled on the edge of his bed, he felt the boy's forehead, clicking his tongue. Yeosang didn't need to be told as he already knew his fever had gotten worse and the hot shower water obviously hadn't helped with that.
