Multicolor Pen got out of bed. He was feeling strange. He knew something was up but couldn't tell what. He went downstairs to the lounge and looked around. Sign was writing in a notebook of sorts. Rose was painting something; she had seemingly just started. Backpack was in the yard doing chaotic things as he always did. And Orchid was sitting on a chair. She was doing nothing, only staring out the window. It looked like she was just idle, but in reality, she was doing telepathy with Crystal Ball again. She was having a silent conversation with her.
"I feel that it is time for the blue one to leave."
"Who? You mean Multicolor Pen?"
"Yes."
"But why? I don't see why he'd have to leave so soon. It's only been a few months."
"I can sense it. I sent the boy here on purpose. I thought he could be useful for our forces, but what was I thinking? He was just some college guy who was failing math class."
"So you wanted him to enforce the local rules?"
"I guess you're right. The personnel needed some draftees. The last time we were short on people, we nearly yielded. Thankfully, I came with magic to save the day. I realized that I was hiring the wrong people, so I let him stay as a civilian."
"So you want him to leave because he's not good at combat?"
"Unfortunately so. However, you probably expected that, considering my attitude."
"Mhm. I want the guy to stay, but you're basically a demigod, so I'm not meddling further."
The conversation ended.
That afternoon, Orchid went up to Multicolor Pen. "Follow me," she whispered. "I've something to tell you." They went up to Orchid's room. "This may be unfortunate news, but Crystal Ball plans to expel you." "I don't see why though." "She only wanted you here for battle. However, she realized you weren't for the job and let you go. She was sending you messages in your dreams." "Huh. That first part feels a bit insulting, but no wonder I have had odd dreams ever since I came here." Nobody else knew about the news. It was only them and Crystal Ball.
The next morning, in her palace room, Crystal Ball planned how she'd force Multicolor Pen out. The usual methods didn't work on him, so she had to plan something else. "The hole-in-the-floor didn't work, neither did doing something in one of his dreams, so that means," she decided, "I'll have to do something that hasn't been done in centuries.'' She was going to perform the Ritual of Departure. She went to the foyer and called her helpers. "Helpers," she announced, "Please help me prepare the ritual site. I'm performing the Ritual of Departure this evening, so we have to set it up. It's been long since anyone last prepared it for this ritual, so we've quite a bit of work to do! Follow me." She and the helpers went out to the ritual area. The helpers cleaned it up, and Crystal Ball prepared the materials. "We are ready for the ritual. I'll contact Sign about the gathering, and we'll be all set."
In the evening, everyone in the hotel went to the ritual site. "As you may not know, it is time for your true blue friend Multicolor Pen to bid farewell. This may seem nonsensical, but it's true. He was supposed to leave earlier, but no other magic worked, so I have to do this." Everyone was shocked. "Calm down, this was bound to happen. He actually wasn't supposed to be in the building you all have, and I wanted him here for a different purpose. However, he isn't fit for that purpose, and he shall be expelled accordingly." She directed Multicolor Pen to the center of the ritual circle, and it began. She channeled her energy, turned it into magic, and drove it into the floor. The cracks in between the bricks glowed white, and she continued. She got the purple flower petals and used wind powers to blow them around the circle. Finally, she got her magic staff and drove it into the ground between the cracks. The magical energy from it was enough to initiate the ritual effects. Once the cracks started glowing bright enough, she grabbed it out of the ground. "The ritual is complete. Soon, he will start to fade away. Say your final goodbyes," she declared, "but this isn't the last time he'll be here." They all said goodbye to their friend, and just as she said, he faded away.
"His presence, and that of all of you, can affect object realm history in one way or another. Be it the ritual, amazing feats, or whatever happens can have an impact on the future. He will be remembered, whether in a positive or negative light. Now, you all should leave."
And just like that, Multicolor Pen was back in the human realm. He went through a portal back in time, and teleported to where he was when he first got into the realm. This time, he didn't faint. He kept walking to the campus, and continued on, remembering what had happened.
