Chapter 11

April 21, 1643 - Britain

     NIGEL ANTILLES warped into the same place 2022 David left and a few minutes after he left: an abandoned shed near Thomas (Agent Pride). The town they were at was present day Canterbury, UK. Nigel looked around and he saw Thomas not too far away from where David left him. "Commander Pride!" Nigel shouted, saying "commander" to keep Thomas' cover intact. Thomas heard him and turned around to see Nigel. Thomas drew his sword and just about nearly stabbed him. "Wait wait wait!" Nigel said, throwing his hands up, "Agent Pride, we need your help."

     "Who art thou?" Thomas asked, keeping his sword pointed at Nigel and speaking in his fake British accent, "and what doest thou meaneth by 'agent'?" "I've been helping Agent Loel with his mission to take down the time terrorists. However, they kidnapped a civilian and they brought her who knows when. I think they brought her here, so just in case, take this camera and hide it in a satchel. And if you see any sign of a civilian or a modern-day car pulling into a hideout somewhere, start recording." Nigel offered Thomas a camera. It was a small camera, light weight too. It was easy to hide it wherever one wanted to.

     Thomas then had the realization that Nigel was in fact a time traveler and spoke like himself around Nigel: An American accent and modern-day dialect, "Alright, where should I send it back to?" "Aim for October 2, 2032. That camera's tech should be the 2070's refined version that won't miss its target," Nigel said. Thomas took the camera and examined it to see how it ticked. Nigel then stepped back into the shed after saying, "See ya around, Thomas." Nigel then warped back to the present.

October 1, 2032 - Hospital in Canterbury, UK

     To David, Nigel just went into the bathroom like a normal person. Went in for a few minutes, some sounds of flushing and washing hands, and then came out. Nigel came back, and they continued to wait for an update from the doctors. About 30 minutes later, The doctors escorted Josiah out carefully. He had a cane because the bullet had damaged parts of his spine. There was a brace applied to help prop him up while it healed, but the cane would keep him from falling and making it worse.

     "I'm so glad you're ok!" Nigel rejoiced. "Yeah, I'll make it," Josiah responded, walking with his cane to a seat and sitting down. David got up and went to one of the doctors. "So how much will this cost?" he asked. Josiah and Nigel held back a laugh while watching this as if they were getting popcorn to watch this event take place. "I beg your pardon?" the nearest nurse asked back. "How much will the operation on my friend Joe over here cost?" David repeated, adding detail. "Do you realise where you are, American?" the nurse laughed. Nigel and Josiah laughed as well. "It's free here, dummy," Nigel said in between laughs. David tried to be upset but it was too funny to stay upset. C'mon, that's gotta be at least somewhat funny, right?

15 minutes later - Downtown Canterbury, UK

     When they got back to their repurposed abandoned restaurant, Josiah asked Nigel if he could take him to his house. "Alright, where is it?" Nigel replied, and Josiah told Nigel where to go. They went through a green portal to Josiah's house, dropped him off, and came back. David got to look around and noticed Anthony wasn't there at all. David became filled with dread. "Nigel, where's Anthony?" he asked. "He must've been broken out by Anthony's associate, who by the way, goes by the name, Vengeance," Nigel replied.

     "Where'll we go now?" David asked, "Vengeance said he'd go to a place only he had been to." Nigel thought about it and remembered Vengeance had sounded an awful lot like Eddie. He drew connections in his head faster than one could put two puzzle pieces together. He thought about where Eddie, David, and Jessica went, and he came to the conclusion that Eddie went to 1643 at some point, and then 2013. "I know where we need to go," Nigel said, "We need to go to 1643." "Why're we going there?" David asked.

      "Vengeance said he'd only go to a place in time he went before," Nigel said, pacing around the room, "If I got this right, Vengeance is Eddie. And Eddie had some mission in 1643 at some point because check this out." Nigel pointed at the ground, and he checked the time. 11:59 PM. David and Nigel carefully watched the seconds as they slowly ticked up. 56... 57... 58... 59...

October 2, 2032 - Downtown Canterbury, UK

      Boom, midnight. Right at the midnight tick, a camera warped in on the floor where Nigel was pointing, the same camera Nigel gave Agent Thomas Pride. "Right on the tick!" David said, amazed, "What is it?" "It's a camera," Nigel said, "It's what they look like in my time." "So tiny," David replied, picking it up, "and lightweight? Awesome." "Let's review the footage," Nigel said, wheeling out from the closet a TV.

      In the video, Agent Pride was holding the camera. It showed him sneaking around the town and seeing a car pulling into a cave that was the same car that Vengeance used to kidnap Jessica. "They're here, Nigel," Thomas could be heard saying, "I don't know what your plan is, but Godspeed." The video subsequently ended.

     "Well, now we know where they are," David said, "When did you give Thomas a camera?" Nigel stayed silent. "Okay then, let's just go and head out," said David. "Wait, we'll need help," Nigel said, "We need the others. Sit tight and I'll be right back with them."
