Chapter Three

Third Person POV + Flashbacks

'I knew it!'

'You knew?!'

'Apparently, Zhan had been contacting me about this but he didn't mention the stomach pain. All he ever said was he's been carving for weird things. To be honest I was also the one who had to call Yibo to make Zhan get a check-up.' Xuan Lu said earning a nod from everyone.

'Then what about that bastard ?'

'about him, Zhan did say that Yibo had an important and urgent meeting, one that he didn't tell Zhan. This leads to this morning when he came to me alone. It is unusual for Yibo to do so, I mean you all have seen how Yibo's always glued to him. Zhan was enthusiastic to share Yibo about the results too. Even now, I still can't process, that he'd be the reason Zhan's back here again, in this state.' Zoey hang her head low as telling them what Zhan had said about his lone arrival that morning.

'Zhan had called me this morning. From his voice, I'll say it's after his appointment with you. He cried, rambling about someone who had left him without knowing about the babies. You could guess who.' Zhou Cheng voice out, trying his best not to lash out in anger.

'Hold it, Cheng, I know you're livid, but do consider Zhan's conditions.' Yuchen tried to calm him down.

'How could I? He left Zhan and the babies alone! Yuchen, He had abandoned them! Now Zhan had to carry that bastard's babies, he had to carry more suffering! How is Zhan going to face college now?!' Zhou Cheng snapped, tears running down his face as he knew Zhan more than anyone. That includes Zhan's vulnerable side, one that not even Xuan Lu knew about. He was also the only one to who Zhan came out as gay. That's until the others found out during one of the nights when Yibo had brought Zhan back home dead drunk. Zhan had accidentally kissed Yibo before passing out, leaving the poor Yibo and Zhou Cheng to explain.

'Jiang Zhou Cheng! That's enough!'

'It's true that this means Yibo had abandoned Zhan and the babies. Yes, we are all in distress now, as you all still have a few months before college graduation. But do realize that Zhan's still not gaining consciousness and the fact that this is a hospital. So go get some fresh air and cool down head down! Yuchen go with him! Don't come back if you're not calmed yet!' Xuan Lu rant then sends both Zhou Cheng and Yuchen out.

Then they're out.

'Xuan Lu...' Zoey called her out, 'I- I didn't mean to... yell out...'

Xuan Lu cried out after realizing she yelled out Zhou Cheng to leave the room. Her cries aren't out of relief, instead, she felt guilty for yelling at her brother. Jiang Xuan Lu is the most patient person, she rarely yells or lets out loud voices Unlike her brother Jiang Zhou Cheng, who's an angry purple lotus. She's always been full of love and care, unlike earlier which indicates that she's not just distressed but also upset to the point she must yell out to her brother.

'Shhh... I know you mean well, Cheng does need fresh air. It's a good thing you voice out...' Zoey hugs her, 'It's just... I can't stand it, Cheng's being like that when Zhan's not even conscious yet. It'll just disturb his rest. Also, I can't believe it that Yibo would leave Zhan like this.' Xuan Lu cried out, clutching Zoey's doctor's coat.

'Only at these times, you cried out. But it's good that you yelled out, it'll make calm your mind at times like these, right ?' Zoey teased her, trying to lift the mood.

'True.. but still, I'd feel bad...' Xuan Lu pouts in between her cries.

'either of them wouldn't like it if you're a crying mess because of them, Xuan. Now, wipe up the tears, you're doing alright.' Zoey comforts Xuan Lu the best, as she is her best friend since high school.
