Third Person POV
"She's not my fiance."
The room went quiet. All of the eyes of Zhan's family members, including Zoey, are looking at Yibo. Li Yang looked surprised when Yibo exposed their status. But Hai Kuan looked pained instead of not sparing a reaction as he intended. Not sparing any moments, Zhou Cheng snapped.
"The fuck? You're enjoying this, aren't you?" Yuchen laughs it out. Earned a look from the others, except Zhou Cheng.
"Why look at him? the bastard exposes his true nature. A fucking playboy." Zhou Cheng said, then all eyes went back to Yibo.
"I'm not a fucking playboy! It's the truth! Li Yang is not my fiance!" Yibo said, feeling damn frustrated.
"See? He's doing it again." Yuchen said.
"Keep saying shits. I'll have Zoey transfer Zhan to another room. Shut the fuck up, all of you!!!" Xuan Lu screams out. You could see thunder clouds on top of her head.
She's hella pissed.
Hearing Xuan Lu screams out curses shut the whole room. Once again, silence claims the atmosphere. Neither of them speaks, as they're too shocked to speak. Never once did they hear Xuan Lu curse. Because she hated cursing the most, but now she's cursing the hell out of everyone.
"See, it wasn't so bad, was it?" Xuan Lu said smilingly, then went back to sitting down. "Now, Yibo, elaborate on your point." She added up, still smiling, but the thunder clouds didn't leave her head. She's telling them to zip their mouths and listen, or else she'll transfer Zhan to another room.
"Thanks, Xuan Lu-"
"Lady Jiang for yo-" Yuchen butted in.
"Yuchen." Xuan Lu cut back Yuchen from speaking. Before gesturing to Yibo, letting him continue his explanation.
"Again, thank you, Xu- Lady Jiang, as I say. Li Yang is not my fiance. She's my best friend. One who helped me along with Hai Kuan Ge throughout the years. She's also the one who stood up against my family elders to cancel the engagement. But they didn't accept it at first. So Li Yang investigates Zhan's background and exposes his real identity for the engagement to break. Then again, the family will lose a certain amount of things if the news leaked out, so we had a deal on making her, my fake fiance." Yibo elaborates on their status.
"In other words, your family cares too much about their reputation that they didn't accept Zhan, as they didn't know Zhan's real identity. But Zhou Li Yang exposed the real deal that shut them up and turned yours into a fake engagement. Is that it?" Yuchen asked. On the outside, it is seen that he's sarcastically throwing remarks because he's disappointed by the explanations. But instead, he's not. Yuchen's feeling is rather complicated for one thing.
'So all this was to protect Zhan? That guy is completely oblivious about the twin. He didn't know he had twins from Zhan. Might as well wait for his real efforts to gain back Zhan, or he'll never get Zhan and the twins.' Yuchen ran through many thoughts as he listened to the others.
"How far did you investigate regarding Zhan?" Xuan Lu went alert.
"He's the last of the Sean family. Sean Xiao Zhan. That alone is enough to keep the elders out of this. Though it didn't make it easier for Yibo and Li Yang." Hai Kuan voiced in.
"We get that already." It's getting irritating for Zhou Cheng.
"Anything else from the past five years?" Xuan Lu tried again.
From the way she asked, Zhou Cheng, Yuchen, and Zoey could tell that she was concerned about the same thing. The twin's identity. Even if it looks like the Wang brothers, especially Yibo, are oblivious to the twins. Not sure about Zhou Li Yang.
"Nothing more than he's been working at the Wang Corp's main branch for almost a year. But only us know about that." Li Yang quickly said.
But apart from Hai Kuan, Yibo, and everyone else, only Xuan Lu could see that she was hiding something regarding Zhan. She knows something that the other two don't.
True, Li Yang does know something that neither Yibo nor Hai Kuan knows. During the investigations, she comes close to the birth of the twins, Wang Xiao Yin and Wang Xiao Yan. But knowing the Wang Family might hurt the twins, she hid the fact alone. Li Yang is not Yibo's best friend for nothing. She may didn't say anything to protect them. But her actions are genuine. This is also the reason why Xuan Lu didn't press her for more pieces of information.
They're both in a position to protect.
"Ugh! This shit is confusing!" Zhou Cheng ruffles his hair. Behind his frustration, he's holding back a smirk.
"Can we even take this as an explanation?" Yuchen smirk.
Xuan Lu and Zoey stayed silent, making Wang's side nervous. Top it off when the two males kept smirking. Their eyes show nothing but a maze for the three other people.
'Are they playing with us?'Hai Kuan thought. He seems calm, but he's sweating hard.
'Should I reveal it? they're not giving any more reactions.' Li Yang started to worry. She's doubting her decision.
'Although I knew that they're not going to take it without a punch. This is worse than I thought.' Yibo is patiently waiting for any reactions. He kept stealing glances at the sleeping Zhan.
'I will win you back, Zhan.'
The room once again went silent. Not a good silence, but the nerve wreaking one. The three from the Wang Family are sweating hard, while Zhan's side is trying their best not to laugh. They kept a blank look, and the males took back their smirks. This may seem rude and disrespectful to them. But they deserve at least this much because they must get the taste of anxiety.
The whole explanation is acceptable. From the details to the struggles, they directly explain them without holding back. They also had a point. But the Jiangs and Zoey aren't that easy to convince. Especially when they don't have any clue about the twins. Not that they wish to reveal them, but it's still hard to accept that fact alone.
Most of Zhan's suffering was when he was pregnant with the twins. Because he only had his family and the Wen siblings with him. To others, it might be enough, but for Zhan, it's not. With Yibo leaving him, the first few months weren't positive. From the bullies to his pregnancy hormones to his nightmares and depression. Zhan was put into a coma for the twins to grow healthy. It was a few days after the surgery when Zhan woke up.
Glancing at Zhan's sleeping figure, Xuan Lu takes a deep breath. With all of them in the same thought, she breaks the silence.
"Sit down, all of you."

I'M BACK!!!!!!!!! I MISS YOU ALL SO DAMN MUCH!!
Gosh, finally, God blessed me with a point of time-out. The real world has driven my work all week, plus my family presented my problems instead of caring. I had to request my youngest sibling and my housekeeper for support. Up until this morning, everything was chaos. Only this morning had it finally cleared up. Starting from my work until the troubles. I even got my first ever decent sleep in weeks this afternoon.
That's why I'm more than pleased that I had completed the drafts ahead. This way, it won't take long for me to update. Because I only need to edit and then proofread them before publishing.
Man, I'm so relieved now. I cried while finalizing these two chapters. I'm sorry for making you wait, and I hope you all enjoy them.
