After coming back from the date with Winwin, Jina spent the rest of the evening and night editing her writing hardly noticing all the others turning in for the night. It was almost 3 am when she looked up from her laptop and found herself sitting in the living room with only a table lamp on. She was saturated and in a dire need of some fresh air and so shutting down her laptop and keeping her phone aside, she switched off the lamp in the living room and went to the roof of the house.
Jina had never been to the roof. It was at the other end of the house and was accessed by a different staircase across the little garden. The stairs spiralled to the roof and she saw that the door was open. Trying to enter it, she pulled on a rope wrapped around a handle and snatched it free once she entered the roof and the door snapped shut.
It was windy and she was glad for wearing enough covering. Wrapping the rope around her hands, she turned the corner around the door and saw a silhouette standing near the edge of the roof. The moon was shining in its full glory in the night sky and so far out of the city, the sky was full of stars. Hearing her footsteps, the silhouette turned around and she saw that it was Yuta. He was dressed in a black loose fitted shirt and the moon threw a silvery shine over his black hair which were falling over his eyes. And in that night, with the moon and the stars and the mountains surrounding them, Yuta looked perfect.
He recognised at once that it was Jina. He had seen her type away on her laptop when he passed by her to get to the roof half an hour before. It was one of those nights where his thoughts kept him awake and so he went to the roof to clear his head.
'Can't sleep?' Jina asked, now standing next to him.
'Uh, yeah I just like the view from here,' Yuta replied unsure of how to act. This was the first time he had spoken to her without any snarky comment.
'Finished working?', he asked.
Jina nodded.
'What are you working on?' he asked.
Jina had never really told anyone about her novel but here was Yuta, asking innocently about her work and she did really want to tell him about it but before she could answer, he spotted the rope she was turning over in her hand.
'Where did you...', Yuta widened his eyes and looked at the door, 'Please don't tell me this is the rope holding the door open.' Yuta ran his hand through his hair.
Jina looked at the door in apprehension realising what she had done and ran towards it, 'I'm sure we can open the door, let me try.'
Yuta didn't even follow her knowing full well the door will not open, 'No we can't.' He was looking at Jina pulling as hard as she could on the door handle.
'Leave it alone it won't open,' he said, 'Just call someone's phone, they'll come open it from the inside,' he added.
Checking her pockets, she realised that she had left her phone downstairs, 'I left my phone inside, call from your phone.'
'What?', Yuta yelled, 'You cannot be serious.'
'Why?'
'I don't have my phone on me,' Yuta said, now looking around in frustration and shouted at Jina, 'I can't believe this, how stupid do you have to be to do this.'
'How stupid do you have to be to use this flimsy rope to hold the door open,' Jina yelled back and ran to the edge of the roof.
'Where are you going?', Yuta asked behind her but Jina didn't stop to reply instead she started shouted in her loudest voice the names of the members in the hope someone will wake up.
