Daphne sits on the patient bed, reading the charts for Derek's patient from the previous night. She blocks out the sound of all the other interns in the clinic, trying to sit in the corner, quietly.
She's been trying to do so since her and Mark's break-up. Trying to block out the stares and gossip whispered between other intern groups and nurses, but she fails each time.
I heard she cheated on him
I heard she's pregnant, and he didn't want it
She was probably trying to trap him
The fact that they all blame her, makes it even worse. Did she dump him? Yes. Did he deserve it? Yes. It's not fair that the woman is being blamed when they don't even know the story, but that's how this world works sometimes, and now was one of those times.
Alex looks over to the latina intern and turns back over to the rest of them, "Anybody know if Daphne is okay?" Cristina shakes her head and looks over to the girl as well, "Apparentally her and Mark broke up because he was leaving, but now he's staying so she's ignoring everything and everyone, even Callie."
They both turn to each other and sigh, "She's going crazy."
A deep sigh is heard and Daphne lifts her head, "I am not going crazy. I broke up with Mark, I am fine. I'm just reading some charts."
Cristina gives her a nod with wide eyes, "Sure Daphne, sure."
"You-"
The girl is cut off by the doors opening, which causes all the doctors in the room to look up, but to the disdain of many, especially Daphne, Mark Sloan walks in, "Dr. Bailey, congragulations on the opening of the clinic."
Dr. Webber looks around, "It is open isn't it?" Daphne speaks up, "No Dr. Webber, we are all just sitting in here waiting for a freaking cow to walk in! Of course it's open."
Richard looks at the girl with wide eyes, as does Mark who hadn't realized his ex-girlfriend was even in the room. Alex lets out a nervous chuckle, "Don't worry about her Chief, she's just having a breakdown."
"I'm not having a breakdown Karev!"
Alex waves his hand towards the girl and stares pointedly at the rest of the doctors, "See."
All heads turn yet again to the door opening, but all are dissapointed again when George and Callie walk in. The couple stare at their friends, Callie looking at Daphne who stares at her sister with no expression, and George looking at Dr. Bailey, excited.
