Friday, November 11th, 2023 (Olivia's Perspective) "Your dress looks absolutely stunning. You look beautiful." "This is beginning to feel much more real." We all helped in fixing up the dress. "Aunt Phoebe you look like a princess." Billie said. "Ohh thank you, sweet angel." Amanda fixed up the veil. "Ahh, I can't even look at myself in the mirror." "You gotta look, you look pretty!!" Leia said cutely. "You guys are too nice." As everyone else cheered her on I went to the other room to look for my other daughter. "Bella, you should come see Phoebe in her dress. She looks absolutely stunning." I knocked on the bathroom door. "Are you still not dressed?! You have to get your hair and makeup done, sweetheart." She opened the bathroom door. "Do you need something?" I asked. Bella wasn't talking much, especially not to me. She shook her head and went to go get dressed. I thought that the older Bella got, the easier it'd be. But I've realized now that things wouldn't get easier unless Bella pushed herself, out in the work, and stayed consistent. I know that she can't help how she's feeling though. "Okay, I'm going to be over there with everyone else. Join us when you're ready." **************** Lennox Hill Hospital (Jake's Perspective) "Good luck with your surgery, Dad. You'll pull through." He smiled softly. "If, If-" "Dad, don't speak like that." "If I don't make it, I want you to know that I love you. I know that I can be hard on you sometimes, but it's because I want the best for you. Opportunities that I could never have. Remember the values that I've instilled in you." "I will. I try my best to be like you all of the time." He chuckled. "Go easy and your Mom and sister, they can be a handful but they mean well....most of the time." I laughed. "I've been meaning to say... I see the way you are with Bella. She's made you a better person." "And a better student." "That's true. She's a good influence, and I could tell that she loves you. She cares. You don't lose people like that." "Mr. Romano, we're ready if you are." The doctor said. Mom and Kenzie came back and we told him one final goodbye before he went to the OR. My Dad's having open heart surgery and I don't know what to do. We made our way over to the waiting area. "Mom, I'm gonna go to the vending machine." She nodded. I hate being in this hospital, looking at all of these dying people. What if my Dad's next? What if he dies? I looked at my phone. The only person who I could talk to about this I pushed away. Don't lose her, I can't lose her.
Me: Bella, I know that I've been horrible to you lately. I'm sorry. I'm very, very sorry. I'm just going through some stuff right now and I took it out on you. You didn't do anything wrong, so please don't think that. Me: I'm the one in the wrong here. Not you. So please, please don't shed any more tears over this. Call me. Me: please ******************* Cypress Grove Estate (11:28 AM) (Bella's Perspective) "Awwww!" Everyone said from the pews. Uncle Fin's grandson, Jaden was the ring bearer and he was so adorable! It's kinda hard to stay in a bad mood when everyone's so happy. I couldn't help but think: would I ever have a wedding? I watched as Aunt Phoebe and her dad walked down the aisle. The officiant did a couple of readings and then she and Uncle Fin said their vows. My Mom was standing next to me, rubbing my back in that way she does, where she's somewhat comforting me, but comforting herself too. She and Dad were smiling at each other so weirdly. I guess they have the subject of weddings on their mind also. "I, Odafin Tutuola, take you, Phoebe, to be my wife. I promise to respect and support you, to be patient and loving towards you, to work by your side to achieve the things we value and dream of, and to savor our time together. I pledge to you all of these things from the bottom of my heart for the rest of our lives." "Fin, I promise to love you, to be your best friend, to respect and support you, to be patient with you, to work together with you to achieve our goal, to accept you unconditionally, and to share life with you throughout the years." They exchanged rings and kissed. You know, I would've never thought that Uncle Fin would get married again. ^^^^^^^^^
