"Hey, Scott, it's me again," Doctor Alan Deaton said into his phone as he walked out of the food supply closet.  "I'm just calling to make sure that everything's okay.  You were supposed to be here an hour ago.  Maybe you forgot.  Well, whatever it is, just give me a call and let me know that everything's okay.  All right.  Thanks."

The bell jingled on the front door, indicating that someone has entered the clinic.

Deaton could see the figure reflecting through the glass storage cabinets.

"Sheriff Stilinski," he said, turning around and smiling.

"Listen," the sheriff said, stepping through the doorway, "I hate to bother you, but I'm having a bitch of a time getting a consensus on what this is we're dealing with."

Deaton chuckled, saying: "I'm really flattered you've come to me for help, but, like I said before, I'm no expert."

"But you were pretty certain the other day about our attacker being a mountain lion," Stilinski reminded.

            "That's right."

"I want to show you something."

Stilinski turned the papers he was holding towards Deaton and said: "We got a little lucky here, the video store didn't have any cameras, but a security camera that was watching another parking lot happened to grab a few frames."

He handed a picture to Dr. Deaton.

"Take a look at our mountain lion."

The photo showed a creature that was about the size of a bear leaping through the window of the video store.

"Here's another," said Stilinski, handing the veterinarian another frame.

The creature appeared to be larger than Deaton thought when it was on all fours and on the ground.  It was almost the size of Lydia Martin's beetle car that was sitting in the parking lot that night.

            "It's interesting," Dr. Deaton said.

"Actually," Stilinski replied, fanning the last photograph in the air, "this is the interesting one."

The image showed not an animal, but a human walking just where the creature was not even a second apart according to the time stamp.

"I see what you mean," Deaton stated, seeming uninterested.

"I've never seen a mountain lion do that," Stilinski said.

"Can't say I have either.  You've got a problem here."

"My first instinct was it was a bear, but bears don't walk on two legs."

"No, they drop to all fours.  Look, like I said, you really need an expert here."

"Yeah, yeah, but..." Stilinski answered.  "Could this still be a mountain lion?"

Dr. Deaton glanced towards the kennels as one of the dogs started to bark continuously.

"I'm sorry," he said.  "I've got a sick Doberman that needs my attention."

Deaton started to walk away as Stilinski asked: "No other ideas?"
