Pursuing Life Is Hard Everytime

C33: Winter Monster; First Storm part 2

Five days later;

The winter had drastically turn into a chaotic turbulent storms and horrendous murderous thunders that strikes the heart of every humans as the frightening news of the rampant colossal zombie monster had suddenly appeared to cause a bloody death and chaos from the south bases. Just a lone zombie. But very powerful! In just five days and all of the strong south bases were almost wiped out from a terror attack and it was confirmed that the unidentified new type of a gigantic powerful zombie was still on the run to continue to hunt in those places where it could find humans.

In a four corners, the dull walls added to the tense atmosphere of everyone seated on the large table, Yun Hu sighed listening to the heated arguments of the leaders.

"Have you really gone mad and lost your brain? Two elite groups of our special soldiers were already killed and now you are suggesting of sending another one! And you are even thinking of the top ranks!"

"Bai Mo, I understand your concerns but are we just waiting for this lone zombie to come and kill us without doing nothing!" said the older looking man with a narrowed eyes and clinched teeth. "If we don't do something to stop it then it will just be a little more time before it might came and attack our base. We must kill it first before it killed us all."

"Killed! Killed! Rather than killing it we are just killing our own people! Haven't you heard of the reports! It was too powerful and even with the help of the ability enhancement liquid our soldiers are still powerless! Sending our soldiers are just killing them and if ever that thing will really attacked us then what are we gonna do when all of our soldiers were already killed before they could even defend our base!"

Few of those who listened agrees but most of those sitting at the long table were obviously with scorning eyes when looking at Bai Mo. Upon a closer inspection of this people, you will see a strong dislike and disfavouring and it was all directed only at Bai Mo.

"Bai Mo, the decision were voted by majority. Why are you so such a grumbler. Everything that we decided you had to disagree?" one of those sitting men finally reacted with angry eyes.

"That's right! Aren't we all just doing things of the same purpose but Bai Mo, every good thing we do you just always object. Who wants our soldiers to get killed? Are you just--"

"Don't start with implicating me again of any insinuation. Did you really think I don't know you were all targeting my people here! All of those soldiers that you send to their death are all under my team!" Bai Mo erupted with his anger as he stared at those men sitting at the table.

"Ha! You finally say your real intention now. So all this time you are just unhappy because your people are chosen to go but it's not really that we are sending soldiers to kill this zombie?!"

Yun Hu gritted his teeth as he forced his self not to burst in anger and kill those malicious and hypocrite leaders infront of him. Obviously this bunch of idiotic and foolish old men are just making things hard for his uncle but what he hated so much are those of his brothers that was sold to the zombie's mouth without a choice and refusal. Even if that zombie won't kill them, but if countered with bad situation and they choose to take the ability enhancement liquid given to them then the chance of dying is still a hundred percent chances.

This time, if his uncle can't still do something, Yun Hu had already set his mind with another plan and that was to leave the base. It was up to his uncle wether he chose to stay in this broken and rusty base management or leave with him. He will surely bring his brothers with him depends on who's willing to leave with him.

Meanwhile, at the other South base, unlike at Yun Hu's that was fall of scheming and dragging down even at the times of coming possible crisis, this one is also of another case.

"Are we really not sending help? Atleast send someone to look for survivors around the area--"

"Shut up! They are not even our people so what are you worrying so much for?"

"But--"

"Enough. Focus on your task and stop worrying about other people's lives. We are not the zombie that attacked them and they are not our priority but our own lives and our own base. The leader had the final say and we just need to follow his order if we want to survive this."

The young man could only sighed softly as he can't argue with the Captain anymore. He understand that being selfish is just a way to survive this apocalypse but being a coward is another thing. Obviously, their Big Leader is just playing deaf for the other bases cries of help in the risk that if they would take survivors with them and the zombie might sniff them leading it of finding their own base to be attacked next then the base will surely be the next target to fall down. Other than being a coward, their Big Leader is also a bit paranoid and he would mostly overthink things and he was even easily scared. If not for being the most powerful one he wonder if he could kick thier big leader's ass off his chair to be replaced by another one.

"*Rawwr!*"

The young man was startled almost losing his own balance while he walked. The sudden roar that was almost far but sounded almost near suddenly brought an unexpected and unexplainable fear to his mind as a bad premonition of imminent danger came to his mind.

The already darken clouds became even more darker as the sky suddenly rumbled with fierce lightnings and thunders as the ground was shaken and rumbled as if a giant had stomped on the ground.

It happened that the young man was still standing on a higher look out tower of thier base as he saw a dark and fast shadow from afar approaching on their base on a fast pace. The thick and heavy snow was still falling and the shadow is not too clear but as it got closer and closer, it was forming a strange huge and scary figure almost scarier to believe as it's shadow form was getting clearer and clearer as it stomped closer and closer to their base.

"*Rawwwwwr!*"

His heart was fallen as his already pale face from the cold become even more paler and his body was stoned in fright. 'Monster! Huge Monster! Run!' he wanted to shout but he can't seem to find his voice as his mind was frosted with the heavy winter. He saw it drawing nearer and nearer to thier base. He saw it broked and entered the thick walls. He saw it's big and pointy claws stabbed the guards patrolling at the walls.. He saw it's starving bloody mouth dripping with blood as it swallowed a falling person from the wall. Thier were frightening shouts everywhere and one strike of its heavy arm and the thick walls collapsed infront of him as its huge body entered his full vision.

Monster! It was huge! It was too scary to look at! It's bloody red eyes that came from hell had roam it's eyes around them with its mocking and despising devil eyes and it roared out loud to the sky as the big storm came engulfing them whole and alive.

It just takes a seconds and everything.. everyone is gone!
