Pursuing Life Is Hard Everytime

C67: Mutated Plant part 2

After everyone was finally assured that Captain Fu is fine. They suddenly discovered a little wide plant with two little green leaves, little green body, little green four roots, and was clinging on their Captain Fu's neck like an obedient little child.
Dong Ming was so scared out of his wits when he saw it as he pull his hair in fright staring at that living plant. Just now the Captain was attacked by a wild mutated plant even harming their teammates and even almost eating their Captain. One of them had even died because Guo Bing and others lose their minds and attacked them.

"It's ok! This plant won't harm others anymore without Captain Fu's consent! The Captain had tame it and now it had became attached to him and would only follow him from now on. Captain is like a parent and a master to him now." He Qian  hurriedly explained.

Everyone, even including Captain Fu had stared at He Qian  and He Qian had no choice but to repeat everything that Magus had explained to him.

Captain Fu grasped the plant in his hand and it had intimately rubbed and curled around his fingers. 'He really tamed it? Amazing!  He even felt like he could manipulate it in everythinghe wanted it to do for him. It was like achieving a new great skill that is only meant for him. Incredible thing!'

In truths, Magus explained that the mutated plant  and Captain Fu might be alike from him  and XiaoXiao but the other were way better as the mutated plant might had become a powerful killing tool for Captain Fu depending on his choice for it. As for him and XiaoXiao, they are still in a familial relationship of a parent and son.

Dong Ming and some of them were still wary of the plant but since the Captain give the assurance they could only believe on their Captain with that.

Captain Fu was told of what happened to Guo Bing and the rest with him.
Infront of everyone, the mutated plant with it's tiny body had suddenly extended it's little roots as it bulged mid air with their extended growing roots growing in the size of a man's wrist as those roots climb and wrapped around Guo Bing and the others, after a minute it retracted it's roots back in its little body as those bulging large roots and extended roots shrinked fastly until it became invisible again from their sight.

"Shit! What is that?! So scary!" Dong Ming cried in horror at that sight as everyone also had a pale face.

Even Captain Fu was very startled at that sight and when the mutated plant retracted, his tiny little roots extended high again enough to reach Captain Fu's shoulder. When it climbed into that shoulder the extended long roots retracted again back to it's original little size as it comfortably seated on that shoulder.

"Poo." The mutated plant give a cute little voice as it's roots two roots grasped on Captain Fu's clothe while the other two roots swayed like a little feet in the air. It looks like the first two roots became his hand and the other two roots were the feet.

He Qian's eyes brightened in amazement. "It's very cute!"

"Poo." It answered as if it knows it was being praised.

"Really cute!" Cried He Qian with a flushed face and shining eyes. It looks as cute as his little XiaoXiao.

"Heh!" Tong Feng sneered. "Are you child? Oh well, you got the size of a child after all heeheehee."

He Qian paused. "A  ..child.   size of a child..?" his happy mode was fast replaced by anger as veins were popping out of his face. His flushed cheeks became even more flushed while pressing both his lips together as if sulking with a hateful glare. "What you call me are geting more worse from worse! Damn, brat! This body did not just grow enough but I am clearly a certified adult!" He said hatefully.

"Oh. So you know now how to protest and object like a sissy? Ahahhaha!"

'A sissy?' That word really strike a painful cut in He Qian's male heart. This time his eyes dimmed and his his feelings turn numb as his shoulders dropped.  That word is such a blow!   He had originally hated this body for being so small and weak but he can still make do his days from ignoring truths and sticking to his own belief and objectives but days like this when truth was slapped in your face is still unevitable huh? Everyone is tall and with muscles but he is not!  Fine!  Fine! He was originally a rich handsome guy and a hotty in his past life but he really can't tell it to them now to brag. It's just pointless. And he can't tell them about this part.

Dong Ming felt pity looking at He Qian's pained expression as he gently patted him in his shoulder.

Not long later, those with Guo Bing that was still tied by ropes had been awakened one by one but surprisingly Guo Bing had only awakened after an hour after them. And who could be blamed by that but Tong Feng.

Guo Bing and his team reported that after the team was divided and separated they had secretly sneaked closer to the base to take a closer look before they had blown the entire fixed area where they had planted their bombs.
The bombs were buried at their house and at the base's laboratory until at a certain areas where they had managed to reach in that part.
The laboratory was really not entirely damaged but they still had given them enough loses with this move which is already enough for them for now.
As for their encounters with the mutated plant, it seemed that they had meet Fang Xixin on their way back and things became troublesome before they had managed to throw the crazy woman from their team.
They were just resting one night and the others on watched were actively patrolling but who would've expected a blind attacks anywhere by a strong roots. If not for using all of their explosive devices then they might've had been sucked dry by a disgusting and blood sucking roots. They had managed to stay alive but still they were muddled in the head and in the end they even attacked their own brothers. It was really a traumatic experience knowing that they had even killed one of their brother and injured the others. Everyone was feeling down as they buried their dead brother after turning his body to ashes.
Cremating your loved ones dead remains would be safer than let them be found and dismembered by zombies afterall. That's a given rule in here after the coming of apocalypse.

And back to the mutated plant, Magus scanned it again and assured them that the mutated plant is now completely subdued by Captain Fu and will only follow him from now on.

The mutated plant is a plant that can grow faster by consuming any either living things, the stronger the better for it.  And one day,  it could become a powerful weapon for Captain depends on how he would handle it.  Its ability could also level up as it grow.
Really a cheat! But who doesn't want it?

"Poo."

The mutated plant also became attached to XiaoXiao which is a surprised. It loves to play with him and XiaoXiao finds the plant interesting as a training partner in combat.
Other than XiaoXiao and Captain Fu  the mutated plant would ignore everyone although he would sometimes great He Qian with his roots when asking for his little kitten.

After some days of rest, the 19 people with a cat and a plant started to travel again on their way back to their little base as they searched for mutated herbs on the way. Surprisingly, the mutated plant of Captain Fu is such of great used in that part as it can detect and capture a mutated plant easily by its amazing roots. And they had found 3 herbs so far.

On the way near the little base, the mutated plant had even captured a mutated animals that looks surprisingly cute and small. It looks like a rat but it had a snowy colored furs and red eyes and it looked wild and smart. It was wildly kicking and biting with squeaking sounds as it was resisting in the tight grip of the roots.

"Ah! It's Rat!" XiaoXiao cried happily.
