Pursuing Life Is Hard Everytime

C14: Child Fu Sichen

The attacked of zombies in their base last for three days until the high level zombies are wiped clean. The other remaining low zombies scattered around the area was now dealed by other low level ability users in the base as well. As for the zombie rats. Zombie rats were already known to every base and there was already a developed formula to handle them as to prevent them from penetrating inside the base. All large bases already had this formula. And also, it's just the first day and the zombie rats already withdraw and escape to find another victims.

But one event had He Qian failed to witness as he was not with his cheap family now. In the zombie attack, some high level zombies throw a rats inside the base and although those zombie rats were killed fast, few of them still escape longer than the rest to cause damage and one of the few happened to run to the Jia house. Mrs Jia was almost bitten but Butler Old Wang was fast to save him. No one knows of his ability but now everyone in the house saw it. And Jia Shufen was staring darkly at the old butler after learning about his ability with a glinting interest flashing in her eyes.

He Qian walk slowly and as carefully as possible to the child until he stop beside him. "Hi." he voiced softly afraid it might scare the child.

"Hello." the child answered back not even looking at him. He just stand infront of a tree which is the only tree around without leaves and it even looks almost fallen out but it also seems not.

"The plants and trees here. They are all mutated?" He Qian asked casually to start a conversation.

The kid suddenly look in his way with a frown and a wary in his eyes. "Did you hate them? They are my friends."

He Qian hurriedly shake his head thinking that the child might be unhappy with his words. "No. No. Don't hate. They look wonderful." he scratches his neck as if it's itchy as he give a friendly smile to the child. "Truth is, I'm amaze by all of your friend plants and trees here. They are different from others that I saw. Once I was chased by a mutated tree unlike the trees here it doesn't have any leaves in him anymore and just trunks and branches and savage roots. It even killed people and I almost became a tree nutrients if I hadn't escape it." thanks to my baby Xiao Xiao that he sensed those creepy moving roots and they escape much faster away from it or else!

"Really?" the child made a pause as if thinking and it was a little longer before he speak again. "Trees are good he might've just been hungry and he thinks you're a food."

'Child, hungry or not he still dares to covet my precious body, ah! Trees provides nutrients but people can't be fertilizers, ah!'

"You're right. It was surely the reason. My name is He Qian. Can I know your name?"

It became quite after that. He Qian thought the child is not gonna talk anymore but.. "Fu Sichen. My real Mama give the name but she's gone when I'm just two years old. My new Mama is very nice but she's also gone when I'm five years old. Do you have a Mama?"

He Qian was surprise by his long words. The child can ba talkative, I see that. "My real Mama is also gone and I have a new Mama but she's very mean to me so I don't like her." he shared but he saw that the child was already busy caressing the other plants. He just let the child do what he wants as he maintain a good distance between them afraid that he might trigger any discomfort to him.

The child never speak again then Xiao Xiao came from somewhere as he jump to He Qian. He Qian quickly catch the kitten in his arms and it adorably rub itself on him then it climb on his shoulder into his head.

"I discover something amazing about this place." Xiao Xiao shared excitedly.
"Ah?" He Qian wonder where the kitten was gone for.

"This place is bountiful of good energy which is very very healthy for me. For how many days that we stay here I feel like my furs were getting more smoother and thicker. My body also keeps on absorbing good nutrients making me more agile and flexible and sensitive. I feel so comfortable and brimming with energies." Xiao Xiao said and sighed comfortably.

He Qian doesn't understand much by what the kitten had said to him but he understand that the kitten likes this place but..

He Qian walk away to the child as to not disturb when speaking with Xiao Xiao. And the kid might mistake him as someone crazy if he saw him talking to a kitten. It might not be the case but let's not take the chance to scare the child specially of his condition that needs more important attention and understanding although He Qian doesn't really know much about autism.

"Xiao Xiao it seems that you are already adapting to this little paradise but remember what I begged you last night. I want to find the silver snake." He Qian started. "I still don't know where to start but I must have it first since it would be helpful for us and, in my dreams it's also powerful although not as powerful as you are."

"I remember that but how to find it? Maybe you should ask the Captain's help."

He Qian also think of it.

"It's also  good that we find that silver snake since like you said it was strong and it can turn invisible. He should be a good sparring partner."

He Qian nodded at what the kitten said. Indeed Xiao Xiao needs to train since time will come that they will be cornered by a high level zombies and he must fight for them to survive.
