Pursuing Life Is Hard Everytime

C34: Winter Monster; First Storm part 3

The cold winter days continued as the brutal deaths of the attacked bases was still rising in numbers.

The winter are still a long days ahead and the fear that the powerful lone zombie rampanting on south might also change it's eyes anytime to another direction caused an inexplicable fear and panic to every bases.

But the most affected are still the neighboring little bases who are very helpless of running away from the heavy snow with their little lives and others can only pray silently in their hearts that the powerful lone zombie would just hopefully pass and ignore them as it change course.

"Damn! The winter monster are more brutal than what Brother Qianqian had told us." said by Dong Ming as he read through the fresh reports of those targeted and affected areas that the powerful lone zombie had already attacked. There is no news for any survivors this time yet and their information are very limited since communications are still not free to a certain few bases.

The emergence of this lone zombie that was a hundred times more powerful than the highest level of zombies that they had encountered is shockingly terrifying.  And to think it can wipe out a whole bases for just a very short time and the storm it created was like the hand of the god of destruction wiping everyone and everything without mercy.

Few of those that are braver enough tried to send some of their people to try and investigate the powerful lone zombie and for the time being no news was still received or it could be that they are holding some of the informations that they already collected. But meeting a mishap or getting stranded somewhere else is more of a possibility for these people since travelling in a worse weather is enough of a risk for their own lives.

"Little Bro,  did you have any other information about this winter zombie?" Dr Moon asked the silent man beside him.

All eyes in the room had stared at He Qian after Dr Moon asked him.  Finally, they all remembered that this little man had once foretell that a powerful winter zombie would appear in the winter which really came true. Suddenly, their eyes looking at He Qian became hot in anticipation waiting for what he would say next or that he might have a solution to avoid the calamities this time.

Looking at their expectant eyes, He Qian could not laugh or cry anymore. 'Dude! This uncle can't really predict the future okay! Don't put pressure on my fragile heart! I finally understand why lying is bad!'

"I-I..   don't know." He Qian could only say it in his little voice totally defeated by those hot stares.

"Hey! Hey! Don't scare our Brother Qianqian!" Dong Ming protectively stand up as he covered He Qian from the hot eyes of his brothers as he detected the little man's discomfort. "It doesn't mean that Brother Qianqian can foretell the future then he can foretell everything. Everything has its limitations." he explained.

Li Huahuan nodded. "Brother Ming is right."

"Sorry for the rudeness. It's not our intention to make you uncomfortable, Brother He but we just want to know if everything you said that time was real." one of the men rise to explained it as softly as possible as he understand that He Qian is not as rough as the rest of the men in the room. To put it bluntly, he looks too soft and weak compared to the rest of them. Not that they really mind him like that as they had long considered him a part of their family since the approval of their Captain Fu.

He Qian felt touched that a tough looking burly man is actually trying to be gentle to him and he appreciated his kindness. His head peeked at them from Dong Ming's protective back as his big eyes blinked twice. He Qian doesn't know it but he looked too cute and adorable when he do that specially when he smiled sweetly and appreciatively catching the protective heart of those tough burly men. In truth, He Qian has been long adored by this men since the chance of seeing beautiful and delicate looking people nowadays are already so tough on apocalypse. There are still a numbers of beauty though, but not the kind of pure and lovely beauty that is as cute as He Qian's type. They like the little man. It's an unexplainable likeness that they also don't understand as the longer they get to know him.

Captain Fu's eyes narrowed dangerously although no one noticed it as it also disappeared in a flashed.

"It's real. What I said is the truth." He Qian finally adjusted his mood as he calmly started. He could only say the limited informations he had received from the original He Qian and he wanted to tell them all that limited informations he knows without keeping anything. "It's also true that it can't really be killed for it's too powerful but if we survived the winter this zombie will weaken and die on its own. And I didn't lie that it's crystal core is an incredible magical tool with its incredible healing power. Other than this. I don't know anymore."

"I remember that time, you said that this zombie was already a high level 7 zombie?"

"Yes.  But it might not really be the case.  How to put it, other than its size and strength, it could be an upgraded new version, a special mutated type." He Qian said as he frowned. He suddenly thought of an idea that things might be more complicated that what he had understand of this world and that the appearance of the winter zombie was controlled    ..by someone else?   Crazy!   That could be crazy!    How is this world too dangerous to live with?!

"Special mutated type?  Upgraded new version?  If  there is really this kind of situation then aren't we in  a more deep Shit than we know?" Dr Moon said also frowning his brows with a complicated emotions in his eyes.

"But isn't it weird? It will weaken and die when the winter was over. Then the coming next season, would there be another new special mutated type that will only last for it's season? How are things getting weird?"

"Yeah, you're right! It's really weird to think."

"Then, are we taking the chances to secure it's special crystal core for us after the winter is over and this zombie was already dead?"

"Hey! Hey! We must have it before someone discovered it's worth!"

"Damn! I'm really having a goosebumps!"

"Alright." as the Captain spoke everyone calm down. "We wait until the winter is over and we will secure the crystal nuclei. We will get it silently and secretly."

Everyone cheers in greed excitement. Powerful healing ability? Who doesn't want it?!
