Karn POV

I knew I had messed up the moment I saw her angry the way she was.
But I only wish to help her. And I know, what I did was not completely wrong, just that today she is not understanding my perspective but when she will, I will be right. She will not hate my decision.

Answer to the question as to what happened is not my tale to tell.
But I will say this, she has suffered. Suffered a lot. Like no one else should have.

"I am leaving." She says, she has calmed a little now, her voice is devoid of any emotion but I know her better than that. She is hiding it.

"I am sorry." I speak, wincing at the way I sounded.

"I need time." She says, she did not waver but her eyes, oh her eyes are the gateway to her persona.

"I need you." I reply.

"You proved my need by your deed, Prince Karn."
Those two words hurt more than anything. Not even her anger hurt me but the way she addressed me hurt.

Why does she do?
You want to know, na? I can tell you the tale of this.

Ananya had been stolen away when she was young. Scared of being discovered, her mother (The one who stole her) and the family shifted to Salwa, a country near- by. She did not grow up in a well of family.

Once, she was not more than four when it happened.
The Prince came to visit the town and seeing her torn frock from the bottom, had thrown one of his own necklace at her feet.

Saying that she was poor and he had to many of them, so he would not mind, giving her that in form of Alms. It had angered and hurt her to no end.
To add fuel to the fire, all her family members thanked the prince as if he granted him their lives.

This is just one of the many incidents that happened with the Prince Of Salwa, Prince Panav.
His name literally means Prince Prince. An absolute idiot he is.

But then there is another thing to the whole lot of it.

He, I mean Prince Prince is nearly ten years older than us.
And it so happened that when he turned seventeen and he had to marry someone he wanted to get married to Ananya.

Because she was beautiful. And, I quote, 'She will be the perfect little princess wife for me. The perfect trophy, one that should be kept in the glass cupboards. To be shown to the world.'

That guy really lacks brain.
How could he say that to any girl? Forget Ananya, for a second. Kind of impossible for me, but still, for a minute.
How does he think a girl would marry him when she hears that?

Ananya did not dis- figure his face, speaks enough of her patience.
And I admire for it. I really do.

But the thing is that, I do not have that in me. I do not posses that much patience. Not in this matter, at least.
