TITLE DECIPHERED = KAGOME KAGOME - CIRCLING, CIRCLING
CONTAINS RECAPS/SPOILERS
Waking up in a place he doesn't remember going to, Haruto explores a building that once held the nefarious activities back in World War II. He entangles himself in the web of secrets the place holds.
*I wanted to capture the feeling of being lost through Haruto's eyes. I have been seeing readers make themselves feel to be gods who watch the fates of a book's protagonist. I wanted to make the reader feel lost just like the main character, and so I opted to keep things subtle, yet confusing. I don't want the reader to be playing as an overlooking god, rather I want the reader to be in a place of confusion and the feeling of being lost just like the main character.
*For the deaths of the children mentioned, I dove deeper into the actual story, KAGOME, KAGOME.
*In the ending, Haruto had been thinking he had been facing ghosts the entire time, when there is one of the "children" that hadn't died among the crowd. The only child who survived the experiments, has turned into a deformed beast, and has been living in the abandoned building and feeding off the wildlife teeming around. The other spirits of the dead children possessed the mind of the creature, puppeteering him. When vulnerable, the beast kills Haruto and wears his skin. With a monster underneath, and evil spirits circling his mind, the new Haruto walks out of the building and enters the world, blending among everyone.
